Crazy to think we had Bowles, Mac, Jeremy Bates and Kacy Rogers at the helm just 1 year ago. Now we have Gase, Williams and Douglas running the show. Yesterday on the Douglas thread I said Jets will win Superbowl with Douglas and will be in the Superbowl within 3 years. My good friend @No Fly Zone already offered me free Superbowl tickets if that were to happen. He doesn't know but I will hold him to his promise, lol. That said, let's just talk about dreams and bold predictions. No fights please. No name calling for being optimistic or pessimistic. Fire away!
Brief honeymoon period followed by fire Douglas chants when he cuts a fan favorite 5th string wr on cut down day.
They will be playing with Mac's guys, so I expect this board to pass the credit onto these 2 if they do well, or use the built in excuse if they fail. Personally I think the tools are in place to succeed as long as Gase doesn't fuck it all up.
Not so bold, but bold for this team at least, the GM is on the same page with the coach for the first time in about a decade! They both have a sort of no non-sense approach to building a team with character players who have the numbers to back up. I think Douglas finally addresses the offensive line in FA and the draft which hasn't been done since the 2009 season when we drafted Mangold and Brick. I find it funny how as soon as we stopped doing that we fell apart. I guess fans on this message board know better than most GMs.
Or board crashes when he selects an offensive lineman in first round, guys will rage at the fact that it was too high of a pick to use on offense.
The team will be exactly as good as Darnold. If Darnold is elite, we can win a Super Bowl. But we will never be able to carry him to an AFC Championship game like we did Sanchez.
