Fitterer was today Fontenot is tomorrow(Rooney Rule) Douglas is Sunday Kelly is Monday/Tuesday We can hire Douglas on the spot Sunday if we like but I think Kelly is going to get his interview as he’ll likely be the DPP under Douglas if it all works out. We should have an answer between Sunday and Tuesday.
Based on what I’ve read, Joe Douglas will be the 3rd interview. It’s interesting that he’s the only guy that the board has really looked at in depth. Lots of insiders seem to think it’s a done deal.
When the Macc firing rumor came out after we picked QWill he was linked to us. Then things died down for a couple weeks and Macc got fired like the reports suggested. Seems like it was always inevitable..
I wanted Mac gone as much as the next guy, but this isn’t exactly a slight Tunsil has been mediocre at best
Hindsight is something else... imagine if we had traded two additional picks for a guy that was falling because of a drug issue? Mac would have been tarred and feathered.
Nope. It was announced pretty early that Fitterer was interviewing on Friday, Douglas on Sunday, and the Champster sometime next week. Somewhere in there it was also announced that Fontenot would interview today (Saturday).
Nope. We were clamoring to move up and grab him as fans. Everyone knew the weed thing would blow over and it did.
It's hard to judge that 2019 draft one way or the other, as none of those guys have stepped on to an NFL field yet. But on the face of it, I'd agree it looks at least promising. I thought Dilliard was great value in round 1.
Anyone else find it hilarious they are taking Douglas to dinner? He more than likely lives in NJ already, or at most 45 min away. It's as if they had to fly him in . Really hope he ends up the hire, it sure seems to be leaning that way.
And he’s been mediocre at best. Again, imagine the reaction considering we wouldn’t have known those picks were Hack and Burris.
I don't get the infatuation for Joe Douglas... Sigh. What about his resume is impressive to you guys? He had a more hands on role with the Eagles drafts than any other, yet, they look average to below average. This shit makes my head hurt.
He is highly respected in league circles. We are excited because the people in the business have nothing but praise for him. But go ahead and look at his resume. A sheet of paper that tells you virtually nothing.
So was every single coach and manager hired by the Jets in the last fifty years. Maybe checking the resume is a better plan.
I didn't hear Texans players coming out in support of Maccagan when he was hired or Rappaport saying he was highly respected in league circles. Also Joe Douglas is the executive of a super bowl winning team 2 years ago. What else would you like on his resume?
