Game 1 is at a reasonable time, too. Keshaw will be a real test for this team. Will the bats continue to heat up? Or will they slump on the road? Here’s hoping that they stay hot!

Happy Memorial Day, Mets fans! #LGM

Bill Buckner passed away at 69 yrs old. He’s pretty synonymous with Mets history.

He should be remember for more than that error though. He won a batting champion, made an all star team, and was in the league for 20+ years. R.I.P

Moron Gomez gets thrown out at third and the run doesn't count on the sac fly. Because it's so important to get to third base with two outs. What an idiot.

Another crappy job on the bases for Gomez, not advancing to third on the slow roller to third base. Didn't end up mattering (he advanced to third on a wild pitch anyway), but that is of course not the point. It's amazing how someone who has been in major league baseball for 13 years can be so pathetically ignorant of fundamentals.

So, everybody hear about how the POS Brady has filed two trademarks for the nickname "Tom Terrific"? Hopefully the Patent Office will tell him to shove it up his ass. There is only one sports-related Tom Terrific, and he played in Flushing for 12 seasons.

And Syndergaard once again looks bad. In 12 starts he's had exactly 4 that were any good.

Familia with a pretty good outing for him - he only increased his ERA by 0.16 and his WHIP by 0.007. It would just be nitpicking to note that those were to 5.56 and 1.853, respectively.

Mets relief pitching continues to stink it up. Diaz coughs up the three run lead in the 9th via a homer, homer, double, double, intentional walk, infield hit, sac fly for the horrific loss. Absolutely pathetic.

Alonso ties the major league rookie record with 19 home runs before June 1, with two more games to break it.

Ridiculous! Jarred Kelenic is so gonna end up being Mike Trout.

Oh and Rosario is still so terrible on defense. Not sure what he was doing g.

I had a sinking feeling not getting the runners in from 2nd and 3rd with no outs in the 7th would come back to haunt us.

Going to the game tonight; hopefully Vargas can get us out of LA at .500.

Even if he’s stellar odds are he isn’t going to provide length. Still gotta turn it over pretty early to the pen. Whatever happens enjoy the game! :)

But did it really? Diaz would have given up five or six runs instead of four if necessary, but one way or another he was going to blow that game. He looked like a Little League pitcher out there.

It seems to me that Callaway needs to channel his inner Sparky Anderson ("Captain Hook") when it comes to the bullpen, and always have someone available in the bullpen at a moment's notice. I don't understand it, but it seems like every one of their pitchers is eminently capable at any moment of being the worst pitcher in baseball. It's tempting to me to blame Callaway for that, since I've had a low opinion of him since the beginning (including during the great start last year), but I don't really see how that's reasonable. Why would someone who was unhittable last year be that bad in a game this year?

Nice job by the Mets, by the way - teams were 0-234 this year before last night when trailing by 3 or more runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Vargas with by far his best start of the year, so naturally the Mets have 0 runs and 3 hits to support him.

7 innings from Vargas. Color me surprised! Good job today by him.
