No more have been canned because there is no one at the Jets to properly evaluate them and their value. That has already been shown in the past week.
The problem is rather learning from his mistakes in Miami he has just doubled down on them here. As a coach he excites me but as a leader of men he is everything we do not want. Even if we win Gases character flaws will eventually implode. His time here will be short.
I agree with you there. The media will not give him any slack. Maybe Little Johnson should hire a person to help him navigate the tri state media tsunami.
It is even worse that if the reports from Vacchiano and others are true that most qualified GM candidates will not consider the Jets GM job now because of Gase's power hungry actions. Which limits us to either unqualified candidates, GMs that are willing to let Gase run the show or GM candidates that have a prior relationship with Gase. It is a very bad situation we are in. The best and simple solution would be to fire Gase now and hire a GM who will have full power to hire a coach next year while letting William's run the team this year.
I haven’t seen a single report that says this and on top of that, Douglas and Kelly are most likely coming in for interviews a.k.a. the two best candidates available at the moment.
The only way I'm backing your brilliant idea is if we can go back to the old uniforms. It doesn't make sense otherwise.
Vacchiano had an article about it a few days about how GM candidates are not looking fondly on the Jets job because of Gase. He stated that the Jets are likely only to get candidates that have a relationship with Gase like Douglas and Kelly. The unrest about the NFL regarding the Gase coup in NY has been hinted about in other articles as well. While Douglas is strong candidate there is a valid argument that the becauset he is tied to Gase is a huge negative. Rather, we need an independent GM who can put a stop to Gase's theatrics and drama and protect the organization against his worst impulses when his insecurities are running wild. We do not need to reward and empower his dad behavior by increasing his leverage and control.
This is actually trademark sociopathic behavior. We can only hope Gase truly is a football sociopath.
...."dad behavior" aside....what has Gase done exactly that's so devastating to the mighty Jets organisation? Dumped two players that weren't contributing and signed a punter? Big whoops. If some spineless GM's don't want the job because Gase is a strong personality, who gives a fuck. They're useless anyway.
I haven't seen any articles with actual facts that support this. I saw a bunch of speculation. Do what are you so upset about? The firing of macc? P Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
The Jets scouting staff is one of the best in the NFL which is why we keep acing our drafts and finding hidden gems in undrafted free agency. I think it's pretty clear Gase doesn't understand what leads to surplus talent all over the roster.
Next we are gonna hear "Chris Johnson leaves everything he owns to Adam Gase in revised copy of his will" I mean come on what the fuck is going on over there...How are the Johnsons alowing this to happen. Its like a team letting Todd Bowles be the acting GM .Bowles and Gase have a similar record both had one winning season and two shit ones. The fact that Chris Johnson is letting a losing football coach have this much power is a complete fucking joke.
In all fairness, Bowles followed his one fluke of a winning season with three steaming piles. Gase has not been around long enough to match that record. Yet.
Love the passion but just chill There is another miserable asshole in new England who was also fired I think it turned out ok This may fail, but relax and let it play out.
Saying you belive in Adam Gase is considered treason........and the penalty for that will be 4 more years of losing football.
No, you want someone on the same page as your HC..for once can we have that here?? Both Gase and Douglas will want ONE thing>>>>job security, which means winning and playoffs If not , if there is chaos , and losing (mostly losing game over misunderstanding s) the Johnsons will get it right and fire both at them at once
Why is there always so much talk about job security and guys weaseling around for power? Why is putting something over on ownership and the other side of management looked at as something so important to these so called professionals. Job security in any job is most easily attained by exceeding the expectations of the guy who writes the checks. Perhaps the Jets need to find some guys who know it's the scoreboard that will guarantee their longevity and won't worry so much about control.
