Miami has major issues though. They have an absent owner and multiple chefs in the kitchen. Gase wasn’t exactly “fired” either, he wanted out and made it happen. Gase learned from a lot of the best. When Nick Saban left MSU for LSU the only person he brought with him was Gase. At the end of the day a lot of guys wanna maintain the status quo around here but we gotta shake shit up to get shit done.
That's the thing: Gase doesn't want that buffer. He doesn't care if there's a buffer. He's accepted the responsibility and believes in himself enough to not worry about a "buffer" or an excuse. Is his self-confidence warranted? IDK, I guess we'll find out - after we've actually played some games. Granted, if they lose a bunch of their early games, which given their schedule is possible, Gase's temper and testiness and the media's bloodthirsty approach may cause a meltdown, but if they win, and look good even when they lose, everyone is going to forget the other crap.
Yeah, really. In what language does citing some actual facts equal getting upset? "Just tellin' it like it is." Sorry if that offends you unicorn chasers.
Tell you what, guys, it's a holiday weekend; how about I take a few days off and you two can just do my posting for me since you know exactly what I'm thinking (even if what I write here is totally different from what you say it is?)
Well then, keep chasing. I fear no unicorns because I know I'll never find one. Especially in Florham Park.
PFFT!!!!! So? How many of Belichick's disciples have been fired around the NFL? Heck Miami just hired another one to replace Gase. They did shake things up they fired Bowles remember? Maintain the status quo? How many teams fire the GM in May? How many teams give a still unproven HC total control? How many teams let the HC hire the new GM? Well run organizations don't operate this way.
Then he's insane. He has no idea what he's in for. He's left himself naked to a NY media onslaught. Miracles can happen but the Patriots are still around, Buffalo & Miami have QBs too so the rest of the division is getting tougher I don't see it happening for him here. I think a Gase nervous breakdown is more likely I'm sad to say.
Lmfaooo you must not watch any tape since he been here. Hate or love him but twitching eyes def doesn't give a nervous breakdown anytime soon memo. I love how he comes off so far and this is a guy who thought Mac was good until I realized his shortcomings
Firing Bowles was standard. You have to let him go after 3 consecutive 5 or less win seasons. What does Belichick have to do with what I said? Who cares if he was fired in May? The media? Gase is the most qualified person to be interim GM at the moment. It’s not like it’s a long term deal. How many teams let the HC hire a GM? I’ll let you research that yourself but I’ll give you one. Seattle. Well run organizations run all types of ways. There’s no exact science to winning or running a good organization. CJ made a tough decision and it came with the expected backlash but after Gase’s presser it’s dying down. Macc should have been fired in January but it is what it is. He’s gone now and we’re moving forward.
We just did the things the right way with Bowles/Macc Rex/Tanny Mangini/Tanny What did it get us exactly? Now we get the offensive minded coach We’re bringing in guys to help build the culture Finally trying to find the right personnel executive to build a program that brings in talented players and develops them. This is exactly what we needed.
It's not about Bowles & MacCagnan. It's about how this organization is being run right now and the crystal clear dysfunction at Florham Park. You said Gase learned from one of the best in Saban. I pointed out how other HC around the league who worked with Belichick have failed. Like the people who said having Manning as the GM would make Darnold a better QB as if through osmosis. LOL It means jack squat. You're very ignorant or naive. The right time to fire MacCagnan would've been when Bowles was fired. Again it shows crystal clear dysfunction. Based on what? Of course it's long term or as long as he can handle the heat. He ain't giving up his power to anyone. So you're comparing him to Pete Carroll? You're right but well run organizations are well run because they um win games. Usually with people who have proven they can win. Gase hasn't won anything. He's not Pete Carroll he's not Bill Parcells. It's not dying down it's May.
It's May. No games are being lost. The NYC media has Spygate stories in the clip (Gregg Williams-Vitt) ready to go, as the acting GM he'll be asked questions about personell/roster decisions at his press conferences and when the team starts losing games whoo boy it's gonna get ugly. I do believe a nervous breakdown is a possibility with this guy. It's sad he could've paid his dues, improved as a HC learned from his mistakes in Miami, been a part of a team instead he came here pulled a completely unnecessary power play left himself wide open to a NYC media onslaught.
