Isn't he? I thought he was, but I may be confusing him with another player or last year.

he's not suspended. and either way we'd get a better comp pick for him walking

We would not get a comp pick for him. There's no way he would sign a big contact, and the Jets will be players in FA next year, so there would have been no comp pick for him.

Also, if G. Williams and Gase didn't want him because of his attitude, and trying to create a new culture and attitude with the team, then keeping him this year would have been detrimental and counterproductive. They obviously didn't want him, or he'd still be here. All you posters crying about this need to face facts and get over it.

dude i told u like 3 times already, we don't have money next year. we will lose more then we gain. it only takes 8 mil a year to get a 4th rounder as a comp pick. lee will get around that probably a similar deal to what we gave williamson.

there is also 0 reports about his bad attitude. it's just made up nonsense. if we cared about attitudes robby wouldn't be here, he's dumb as rocks and has had more off-field issues then lee

You can say it ten times, you're wrong, as you usually are. The Jets will have around $50 million in cap space next year. Try looking at OvertheCap.com. Beacham's contract will be gone. Winters will probably be gone ($7.5 million savings). If Trumaine Johnson doesn't play well, they can save $3 million the cap by cutting him. If Osemele doesn't play well or gets seriously injured again, they could cut him and save $11.7 million on the cap. They could cut Avery Williamson and save $6.5 milllion. They will make additions in FA. Book on it.

    LMAO here we go again

so right now we have 29 million in cap room. that's only the top 51 though the whole roster kicks in after pre-season so you have to account for the 3 others who make the roster so at least 1.5 mil plus PS and whatnot so say 2 mil. now down to 27 take off 9 mil to sign rookies. that puts us at 17 mil. account for midseason signings and we'll call it an even 15 mil that's our carry over. now take out 10 mil of that for draft picks so we get an extra 5 mil next year best case scenerio

currently next year we are at 33.5 mil so add in the extra 5 and we have 38.5 mil already accounting for rookies. that's our money to spend not 50 mil. here is why it gets worse, look at all the impending FAs we need to resign or replace

Beechum and/or shell: hopefully udoga replaces beechum but we still need to resign shell. consider his market at 6-8 mil and this is best case.
anderson - market value 12 mil
williams - market value 14-17 mil
poole - likely not needing to be replaced (nikcerson hopefully steps up)
    mclendon - likely not replaced
catanzaro - need a K so figure 3 mil here for a kicker
copeland - maybe replaced by polite so no replacement
    jenkins - 8-10 mil a year
edwards - we need a punter so again 3 mil

that's not to mention other cheap/depth guys
that means to keep what we have now at minimum we are looking at 46 million needed to retain our talent. that's bets case. it could be higher or we could need more people because this assumes polite and udoga step into starter roles. as far as cuts, the only cut we can make is roberts which saves 6 mil but puts us at 1 known corner and nickerson steps up to CB2 and we don't have a CB3 or any depth so we need to spend to replace him and that upgrade would likely cost more or we start a rookie. we don't have no 50 mil to splurge or remotely close

the most likely net loss for the jets would be williams walking (unless we can trade him) and lee walking which would net us a 3rd and 4th in comp picks if both walked. we are "cap poor" next offseason so only improvements will be draft picks and progression. can you please do some research or listen before you spout these crazy ideas

You can tell when someone is losing an "argument" or their position is tenuous when they make up stuff about what the other person supposedly said. In this case, incorrectly accusing you of telling him to FO.

I actually LIKE the fact that Gase is and has been shaking the tree a little since he was named coach. I like the fact that he makes a decision and acts upon it--such a refreshing change from both Bowles and MacCagnan. What the hell have we got to lose after 5-11, 5-11 and 4-12 under Mac and Toilet? Gase did not stand still like Todd Toilet did for FOUR YEARS without voicing any objection to the coach being shut out of the draft decisions. 1st round bust Darron Lee has been getting run over by blockers for 4 years, so no wonder nobody would cough up a 5th rounder for him. The thought of Darron Lee getting us a comp pick is laughable. At least Gase got something for Lee, and he did it on his 2nd day as GM, which is more than MacCagnan did. It took MacCagnan four months to internally deliberate on whether/how to move Lee, typical of wishy-washy Mike who probably would spend weeks thinking about whether to sign his own stay of execution.

He was suspended last 4 last season and that was it and I couldn't find anything else online saying it continued into this season.

Run over by blockers for four years, interesting in a three season career.
    Facts man, facts.

Gase fed up about the Mac questions this morning. "I think our fans care if we win or lose" well said!

I thought Gase handled that presser well. I doubt it was 100% honest but he answered every question with a level head.

Yeah, you're right. It was this past season that he was suspended 4 games. I got confused.
