I am so glad Macc was fired, but Gase made so many poor personnel decisions in Miami, I have "No Faith" in Gase at all, the Johnsons need to get their act together ASAP...
The man looked tweaked out during his 1st ever Jet presser. Eyes looked like the eyes of a crack head junkie. Now he's our HC, GM, OC & QB coach. The New Gase Jets. I don't like him.
Being a Jets fan I hope Gase succeeds. Let's see how it plays out. Whether or not I agree with what the Johnsons did, I'm rooting for Gase to do a good job.
The ONLY way this can work is if by some miracle Gase wins a Super Bowl in year 1. With his personality the media here is gonna eat him alive. Bill Parcells had the pelts to get away with it Gase does not. With total control immediate results will be expected so Gase will not get a honeymoon period. The Jets took something that was a positive (finally hiring a experienced HC & Gregg Williams) and more than likely doomed it to failure before the first preseason game is played. It's kinda scary to think that there is no one to act as a buffer between the NY media & Gase & Williams. If they don't win big right away this thing could get VERY ugly. Gase could end up having a nervous breakdown.
The worst aspect of all this that the Johnson's didn't seem to take into consideration was that Gase was not widely accepted by the fan base when he was first hired... over the months since the craziness has died down & fans began to accept & even embrace the change, opting to take a wait and see approach. With this latest drama it's only reignited the Gase hate & spun this organization in a backwards spiral where fans & media alike are going back to the SOJ disfunction story line... this isn't a good look for this franchise , at all. No doubt in my mind Maccagnan should have been let go but it should have been a total housecleaning with Bowles... putting a HC with no track record of success , who was a hard sell to your fan base in position to choose his own GM is a horrible idea & only cements the notion that the Johnson's have no clue how to run a football team.
TDK ---its the same old mess with a new twist as unlike when they did this previously , now they are allowing the coach to actually hire the GM = IMO this ends badly
Could this be a another one of those Joe Torre episode? Perhaps Gase will turn out to be great. I don’t have much faith however I am curious to see where the Jets are in October is 2019. I don’t care for the Lee trade but we ll see what and how this will transpired. Everyone just need to chill. We have a improving team and let’s hope the offense takes over.
