    Okay, I honestly got this one wrong. I thought the rumors a couple weeks ago were BS. I am surprised but not shocked. This is Gase's team now. I love the Jets, but this screams of dysfunction.

    I think it's less about gase having pull, and more about our dumbass owners finally pulling the trigger on something that should have been done months ago

    I think Gase being interim Gm is meaningless... and short of a disastrous hiring process(always possible) this will turn out to be a good thing for the Jets...a FAR better option than Mac taking the fall in late December.

    At this point, Gase would be making/signing cuts if he sticks around as GM for a little while. I can't imagine he'd be GM for terribly long, I certainly wouldn't want to see him making trades or being GM going into the draft/FA next year.

    I think the timing is fine and furthermore, it sends a message to the organization that things are going to change if you don't do a good job.

    NYJ have been notorious for foot-dragging personnel changes--not anymore apparently.
