So equally as skinny then, the extra weight taken up in the extra body length, but the point was people kept saying Robby would be snapped in half if he didn't put 20kg on, he didn't and hasn't been snapped in half as yet, the only injury I remember was when he got his ankle trod on. You see the las wince in any of those tackles, there were two or three nasty ones as well, a clothesline to the head being one particularly bad one, one after he had ran out of play was another.
I know Leon played a few years ago, but is there any excuse for a video of such poor quality?! At fullscreen it looks like a copy of a copy of a copy of a VHS tape from 1972! But my God, he was a brilliant player. What a damn shame he picked up that injury.
Hard for me to get a pulse of how good this guy actually is. His production and stats look good though I am not much into college and realize anyone can put up decent numbers in smaller programs. Is it just because he's short and didn't go to a big program that teams passed on this guy? It seems like if he works a bit more on his routes, then he has the quickness and hands to make a difference at the next level. I'd much rather have him over Bellamy, who seems to be an overpaid Gase guy who is more of a kick returner than a receiver.
Well, every few years or so we come up with a decent return guy. Maybe this kid can be the next guy since we didn't see fit to pay the last guy.
In hindsight, I get why we didn't want to reward a 31 year old kick returner who was playing out his mind for 1 season. I love Boyer and I think if we bring enough talent to compete he will produce a good return game.
FWIW, we had a great return game under Westhoff with many different returners. If Boyer's as good as we think, I have little doubt that someone will fill the void left by Roberts in the return game.
He played against Clemson Sproles combine weight was 186. Dortch will naturally gain weight as he ages and the team he plays for will bulk him up as well.
He might not have been drafted because he's 4 ft tall and my grandmother could tackle him. And she's dead.
I thought this guy was strictly a return man, but his polish + production at WR is better than I imagined - 89 catches, 1k+ yards, 8 tds... Seems the Jets/Gase want a lot of little quick munchkins at WR... Get ready for a lot dink and dunk, screens, pick plays, Air Raid concepts, etc. ala classic Patriot / Bronco style.
Dortch ran a 4.49 where he really didn't focus on running it well and supposedly the tape showed he doesn't seem to be AS fast. But dude played hurt. He runs the full route tree though, and IMO is fast, agile....exactly what he is at 5'7" 175.
