This is where something optimistic should appear.

Yet still need edge rusher. This team....Smh. This is really going to sting if Allen turns into the next Von Miller. Time will tell

    Per ESPN:

    Biggest question:
Why not Kentucky OLB Josh Allen? He would've filled a big hole in the Jets' base 3-4 front, which lacks an edge-rushing linebacker. Another question: Where does Williams fit? He plays the 3- and 5-technique positions, which makes him similar to Leonard Williams and Henry Anderson. New defensive coordinator Gregg Williams can play multiple fronts, but it won't be easy to get all three on the field at the same time. Leonard Williams is entering the final year of his contract; this could hurt his negotiating leverage. -- Rich Cimini

Same old Jets. 5 d-lineman in the first since 2011. Still can't rush the passer.

Dudes a stud. This will take pressure off of Leonard Williams and we will see much more production overall from our d-line.

Lets go. The kid was happy to be a Jet and even interviewed up at Hot 97 a few days ago with his agent. I'm not making any predictions, but I would love it if he was a truly dynamic guy in the middle for this defense. Let hope Gregg gets the most out of him and creates havoc with he and the Fat Cat on the inside.

If Allen was as good as people on her think why hasn’t he been picked yet?

Picture this guy next to Leonard Williams. There will be no such thing as a 'clean pocket'. No safe place for QB's to roam.

Even an 'average' edge rush will above average with no pocket for the QB to step up into.

edit: We've all seen what one extra second per throw can do propelling even an average QB into a Peyton Manning. Teams really need a great o-line to give the QB a clean pocket, or they need to play against teams with a weak d-line that can't pressure the QB even on a good day.

Quinnten and Leonard playing together will at least force Offenses to keep a RB and TE in to block on passing plays, taking valuable weapons off the field.

good player. Williams wall and Anderson should be able to create some heat. Copeland, jenkins and luvu will benefit from this.

I’m sure he’s a stud. The worst decision was Henry Anderson’s new contract.

Anyone have an interpreter. All I heard was Waterboy mumbles. Momma said and big guy, next to the little guy green inside. Maccagnan needs to go. One year off his BPA and he's right back at it. Nobody wanted to trade up and get this guy. Hard to look forward to the 3rd round. Maybe we'll take a QB as BPA then.

My head hurts. I'm sure the Jets apologist in me will reason ways that this was a great pick, I just can't get excited for this.

Now we wait until round 3. Macc couldn't negotiate a trade down with a gun to his head.
