I just want them to hire a competent VP of Football Operations. I don't care if they played for one of the teams I hate the most (Patriots, Dolphins, Bills, Cowboys or Raiders). I just want someone that knows what they're doing.

Why would I want the Jets to kiss his @ss like that?

He rejected the Jets twice the first time when he stayed in college then again when he went to Denver.

This mentor baloney cr@p doesn't work. It's all PR for the baloney mentor.

Franchise QBs are born not made. Darnold has to figure this out for himself no one else can play the game for him.

Stay in Denver or Indianapolis or wherever the heck he is now I don't care, Manning.

Parcells didn't want P Manning because we didn't have a helmet big enough to fit Manning's head into.

Manning didn't reject the Jets the first time, Parcells did that.

As for going to Denver, why would he have chosen the Jets over Denver at that time?

He rejected the Jets much like Eli rejected the Chargers in 2004. He didn't want to play for the Jets that's why he didn't come out.

And hindsight is 20-20 oh why would he choose the Jets over Denver? At the time the Jets weren't far removed from back-to-back AFC Championship appearances, they had a elite defense. What had Denver won? They were coming off a 8-8 season only because Tim Tebow saved their behinds from sucking for Luck.

He could've won here. He rejected the Jets again.

His right to do so but don't expect me to pay homage to him by demanding my team bring him to training camp for some baloney mentoring of Sam Darnold, who does want to play here.

Exactly. And who was he, as a kid coming out, to demand an NFL legend in Bill Parcells to "guarantee" he'd go #1? Idk, to me it appears as if Manning never wanted to become a Jet. Ok. So he passed on us multiple times so as a fan, I now pass on him. Greatest QB @ the L.O.S that I've ever seen though. Just don't want a Jets culture that welcomes those who've never welcomed us to begin with. Kind of like Phil Jackson. Was a Knicks player but never wanted anything to do with us. Why would he lol he had Jordan Pippen Shaq Kobe etc but never wanted him once he came back crawling to us and forced the triangle down our throats when we never had the players to run it right. Hard NO and pass on Manning.

Archie claimed the opposite. He said he told Parcells Peyton would only come out to play for the Jets. If Parcells would guarantee he would take Peyton he would declare. Parcells refused and Mannning stayed in school.

Parcells wasn't the type of person you'd want to give a ultimatum to. Caving in wasn't his style.

Parcells was also all about team, he didn't like guys thinking they were above the team so he wasn't about to guarantee anything to any player especially a incoming rookie.

That said who can believe that if Manning had come out Parcells wouldn't have taken him?

I agree with everything you said.

When you don't want to do something you'll look for any reason not to do it. Manning didn't want to come here so his dad latched onto that as a reason for not coming out.
