I feel like Gase is mix of Rex and Bowles. He is not so loud and over the top, nor is he monotonous like Bowles. Now with personalities there is no such thing as the right one in football. We seen boring coaches (Belicheat) succeed and animated coaches succeed (M. Ditka, Parcells). I think what we as fans are happy to see and hear is change. We got tired of losing and hearing the Bowles mumble. Gase is a Offensive mind which is also refreshing, and a change in Jets Philosophy. I hope this change in coach brings a change in our playoff hunt, and Superbowl drought also, and winning is the bottom line.
Fishing is always good. Catching is on and off. We went hunting this weekend to take advantage of the nice weather and got some wild pigs!
Serious question as I know they are like vermin at this point that they can't control across many state, but do you eat them? I hear some do and some don't, but like with all hunting, it depends on the animal's diet. And pigs will eat anything. I guess BBQ or smoking would be a good option? -J
It's nice that he had a good interview but why are the Jets not starting off season workouts today and taking advantage of the extra time teams are allowed if they have a new coach.
Foster was 30, Ajayi was 23 Gore was 35, Drake was 24 Bell is only 27... I don't think we should rule out Alfred Morris just yet considering our head coach...
Sounded like it’s the same amount of time they’re just making it all run together rather than a break. To me that’s smart so you don’t waste a day refreshing old material coming back from the break
New terminology, new playbook. The more time the players have to get familiar with it the better. Nothing stopping groups like Darnold,Herndon and the WRs from working together during the break. Having plays and terminology helps. The sooner players can start digesting that info the better. Seriously if these players are going to forget everything from a week off, this team is beyond fucked, not to mention, the head start on conditioning isn't something you can forget. Should have been in this morning, setting the tone for the season
I think you’re making a bigger deal than it really is. Pros and cons to both. A teacher would rather teach as many consecutive days as they can. If waiting an extra week hurts their conditioning than these guys we have aren’t pros anyway. These guys have their own trainers and own dieticians I don’t think they are gettin much out of the offseason program. I doubt this decision has any bearing at all on the success of the program
As a coach, you take advantage of everything possible advantage. The extra week ,esp especially with the way the CBA limits contact, is a big advantage. As for your argument that the week off is a hinderance, and the coaching staff would waste days reteaching everything. You do realize they still have a 3 week break following mini camp. Guys come in out of shape every year. There's no substitute for the Strength and conditioning with the team. You get a guy like Bell who's been away from the game, Maybe who was out injured, etc . in as early as possible . Gase is supposed to be changing the culture, get the guys in day 1 and set that tone. The competitive atmosphere drive players to work harder. It may be a slight advantage, but any advantage you have ,you take. It may be the difference between Bell hitting his stride week 2 vs week 3. That could be the difference between one win vs a loss.. As a teacher, especially now where most are evaluated on students standardized test scores if they would prefer an extra week to prepare their students. I bet you close to 100% will say yes.
