It would be better if they did this after the draft. If Darnold continues to improve and they have a good draft along with what was a good FA period then I think the ceiling for this team is 9/10 wins with the floor being 7/8. I am expecting and hoping Darnold takes the next step in becoming a franchise QB. No reason this team can't be in the WC mix in 2019.
If you are an optimistic type, this a good bet to place the over 7 hoping they make another trade or have a good draft improving their chances. O/U may change later. Right now that s about right. I say we re a 6-10 7-9 team right now but I ll bet the over with a solid draft and a potential trade.
If this team can't go at least 8-8 then wtf are we wasting our time with them? Also, I'd like a hit of whatever the oddsmakers are smoking to have the Giants at o/u 6 wins.
They do it before the draft because pros know the draft isn’t likely to effect this year’s win totals.
If Darnold grows on what he did the last few weeks of the season then i can see this team winning 8 or 9. 10 with a playoff birth is a long shot but not out of the question. Bell and Mosley being added will also play a huge part, with a complimentary draft this team could be dangerous.
Based on health and everything they're a 6-8 win team. Seems right on the mark. Things can change after the draft and some free agent signings but 6-8 wins is right. They hit on some of the draft picks few things go their way they can get to 10 but that is alot of ifs.
If you are in NJ you can use draftkings or fanduel. There are a few other big ones as well. I usually disagree with the Vegas lines for wins each year, but this time it seems dead on.
Exactly right ..I dont buy just 7 wins.....the "rebuild " and Macs "plan" are all for naught if the floor for this team winning as of today is nothing short of 8 wins...we have to improve! The Giants are another story...and Vegas practically lumping us together with the NYG is absurd imo Come April il show ya how I expect us making it to 2 more wins
My problem with the team is the same as last year when I predicted we would be 5-11. The talent is good but we are weak at important positions. We are weak at edge rusher and worse at corner. Although the offense looks improved with a much higher ceiling. We have a slightly better OL and we added Bell and Crowder. The offense could be dangerous but the defense scares me. I hope we resign Mo.
I predicted 9 wins last season and was way off, obviously. It seems the Jets have improved their personnel since last season, but they do have a bunch of weaknesses. Every team has weaknesses, but how bad are the weaknesses of the other teams? I really don't know, so it's tough to judge. I'm going to say 8 or 9 wins this season because Darnold has all the goods and is a fast learner. In addition, there is a deeper receiving group and Bell. Finally, the offensive coaching was horrendous last year. It can only get better.
