Liked this interview. In my 40+ years of Jet fandom, this was the first time I have ever heard the Jets referred to as a storied franchise in the NFL. Who knew ?
Yeah...it's a sad, sad tale of dashed expectations. An endless roller coaster of hope and disappointment.
If we're gonna play NC's greatest hits, you have to go with "you don't have any idea what you're talking about". That's obnoxious coming from knowledgeable posters, but coming from a guy who reads about football rather than watching games, it's especially grating. It's a waste of time trying to explain anything to him, as one of the these 2 lines will surely follow.
"Roll" away. Having realistic expectations is a good thing; nothing good about being unrealistic. Anyone with a business needs to look reality in the face every day; fantasy does not lead to success. Reality is the power ranking of 22 I saw the other day and that's quite a step up from thirty.
Reality? I can't handle reality? I have for the last fifty plus years. I don't believe the NFL is a steaming pile of mediocrity, it just looks like that from the bottom of the pile. Expect anything you want - there's plenty of pie in the sky, just dig in.
Hiring Williams was my favorite change this offseason. Bell and Mosely were nice pick up's. I wanted McCarthy but we'll see if Crazy Eyes has the chops to coach in New York. This draft is important no doubt but I feel the Jets will get an elite talent @3. The rest of the draft not so confident.
