The Blue Bomber landed some good early shots, but the Red Rocker bounced off the ropes and got some digs in at the end of the round.
The truth is the source in that report is probably talking about the font or “square style” of the numbers rather than the neon. For every little blurb I hear about the new uniforms I haven’t heard anything negative. The secret reviews seem to sound impressive. The Jets have taken great care not to let pictures of them leak - that silly “ leak “ from two months ago was fake. Everybody won’t be happy with them but I’m going to predict the vast majority will be. Remember the Jets took the new design from season ticket holders entries . In the end it’s just a money ploy. Everybody runs out and buys the new jerseys right ?
I personally hate when teams mess with the numerical fonts. Numbers are there for one reason only - so that we can read them to know who is who. I hate the silly number styles of some of these new uniforms. A couple years back, Rutgers did this - thin font, in silver no less. Couldn't see the damn things.
I really hate how those numbers look. Borderline tampa bay digital clock. Nike has a digital clock fetish.
The funny thing with that silly leak is it's consistent with everything we've heard about the uniforms. Slightly darker than kelly green, black trim, new logo, numbers look like Oregon's, and the helmet looks like the Eagles'. I don't think it's real but whoever made it may have heard reports from people who saw the uniforms.
Well I guess we’re gonna have to wait and see. The only thing I can add is the opinion of the uniforms on the fake leak ranged from ugly to horrific. Very hard to find a positive comment on the websites showing the leak . I’ve read opinions from about 3 or 4 anonymous sources who have seen the actual new uniform and they all seemed to like it - it was described as “ sick “ a couple of times. Of course “ sick” is slang for awesome looking. The Eagles comparison is probably the color itself - today’s color. Remember back in the late 70s to early 80s the Jets and Eagles looked very much alike other than the silver color in the Eagles pants . The helmets and jerseys were the same exact shade of green . When the Titans uniforms were leaked last year - and that was an actual leak - somebody took a picture of their new jersey in locker room packaging - the Titans actually investigated who took the picture , the NFL got involved , and their uniform revealing ceremony had to be changed - moved up to the very next day . This Jets uniform leak was two months ago and not a peep from the Jets. So I’m 99% sure the uniforms look nothing like the “ leak “.
I just had a baby so I’ve been out of the loop, but if the leak is the one that pops up when I do a google search for jets uniform leak I don’t think it’s that bad. I like that it’s very simple and classic personally. Just one guys take.
