I find it interesting that Adam Gase evaluated the Jets roster and seems to like many of the players on the roster. Makes you wonder if Bowles and his coaching staff made them underachieve, but other coaches see the value in the players? That has been my thought when everyone says how bad the Jets roster is. I know it hasn't been great, but they have had some quality players including McLendon.
You are what you are. He just got a contract worth peanuts. For a reason. That's his worth. A mediocre JAG of a NT is all he's ever been and still is. I'm not complaining because i understand we need to field a roster but he's pretty bad at his position.

McLendon is rock solid and not remotely “bad at his position.” Also provides veteran leadership. Jets aren’t losing games because of Steve McLendon.

Yep. Even Belichick just signed Brooks and Pennel. It was a better roster than people thought. Bowles and company were just really bad. That is also a possibility. Hope not.
Yes indeed Darknight Watch Richardson in Cleveland, he will play lights out for them, while Bowles didn't know what to do with him but use him as LB on special situations, when even the equipment manager for the opposition knew the defensive play scheme.
For those who believe that our team last year really sucked talent wise, and poor old Bowles was a total victim, you get to wonder Why so many of our free agents are finding happy homes with good teams. May be, just may be, we where better talent wise on the player side than we thought and one hell of a lot worse CS wise than we ever dreamed of. Can't wait to see what Williams does wth our D. Meantime. Desperately rooting for the best Jets draft ever since the days of Brick and Mangold.
