With plenty of Free Agency left to go, not to mention the Draft, the 2019 season looks like it could be one of the most fun seasons to watch in a long time as a Jets fan. Not specifically due to winning (of course that would be nice) but because there is finally some intrigue in a way there really hasn’t been for years. For home games this year, there is some kind of intrigue for most of our matchups, giving each a game a little more spark to them than just any other Sunday. -Buffalo: Aside from division rivalry, you have a sophomore matchup of Darnold and Allen. -Miami: Division of course, but you have Gase going up against his old team. -New England: It’s just New England. -Oakland: Nothing personal but the Raiders are going to be an interesting team to keep an eye on. -Pittsburgh: Bell with something to prove against his old team. -Cleveland: Sophomore matchup of Darnold and Mayfield. -New York Giants: The battle for NY and first matchup of Bell and Barkley. -Dallas: Showdown of to top RB’s in Bell and Elliot. I know they never are on the field together, but when two players at the top of their position are in the same game, there’s always a little extra fuel in the effort to prove they are the best. Away games aren’t as intriguing, aside from the division games we also have Baltimore, which is Darnold’s first face off with Jackson, and rounds out the the first round QB’s from last year (aside from Rosen, but I’m not really including him). All in all 2019 should actually be an interesting season, and hopefully they are competetive in the games.
Dolphins twice, Bills twice, Bengals, Giants, Redskins, Raiders, and Jaguars seem like winnable games. Patriots twice, Browns, Steelers, Ravens, Cowboys, and Eagles will be tougher, but I could see the Jets pulling off some of those too. One day into the new year, and that schedule actually looks pretty favorable.
I'm not worried about the Ravens at all, and the Steelers look to be severely weakened. On paper, this team ought to be able to finish .500 at worst, but those are famous last words.
1TNF and 2 MNF. I don’t think any Jets game will be on SNF when they anounce the schedule but if the Jets are any good they might flex Jets to SNF later in the season.
I believe Pittsburgh will be the opener. The league will hype up Bell’s first game against the Steelers
You say "nothing personal" vs the Raiders, but it still pisses me off to no end thinking about the free timeout the Raiders got when they carted Tim Brown's mom and his whole fucking family on to the field for some ridiculous bullshit mini-celebration for getting 1K catches. In the middle of a crucial drive!!! WTF!!! So fuck the Raiders.
Makes sense. I believe Jets will play the first of the Monday Night double header opening week. Maybe Steelers maybe Browns. I don't know which one.
I don't see us matching up well against the Browns. Having said that, I don't see many teams matching up well against them. I see them as a playoff team this coming season. Jets/Browns MNF Jets/Dolphins TNF (Probably the game in Miami) Jets/Steelers MNF
Just got an email with the teams the Jets will be playing in 2019. Guess the correct order of the schedule and you could win $100,000 or free season tickets (probably without parking passes those fckn cheapskates). Give it a whirl, why not. Good effort but I can't see the Jets with 4 prime time games - at least not scheduled. They could FLEX in later on if they're any good. But Miami and Cleveland would be my guess for prime time....
Maybe not but at least 3. There are enough primetime games for every team to have about 3, and I don’t see the Jets being boring enough to miss out that this year.
