Any offer made to Anderson the Jets should be able to match given their cap room. The second round tender is a wise choice . His performance in 2019 will decide his Jets future. Howver if a team decides to blow Anderson away with an offer he can’t refuse and an offer the Jets can’t match then best of luck to him. There are plenty of holes in his game. Take the second round pick and move on ....
The sample size for Robby is entirely too small to compare to a decade long career of Coles. In fairness, you would also have to state a few other key contributing factors that weigh into coming to this conclusion that can't be overlooked. Such as Coles having the most talented QB the Jets have ever had throwing him the ball during that time, and a much better staff and a better team in his tenure as a Jet than Robby has experienced thus far. I'm not drawing any conclusion here merely playing Devil's advocate, nor do I think anyone should be drawing these comparisons with the sample size we have from Robby currently.
Brains? Where? Guy talks and writes on social media like a manatee on drugs. And manatees don't talk, write on social media, and also don't do drugs. Or so I've heard.
I can definitely see a team giving a 2nd rd pick for him.... but better than Coles?!?! That's idiotic and a freshwater hose is like crack for Manatees
Do they know how to drive within the speed limit? I love your new avatar. Electric football, haha. Nothing beats the ones from 60s/early 70s. I didn't know they had an actual Jets one. We got ours for Christmas the year after the Jets won the SB, and the one we had implied it was the Jets, and it was implied the other team was the Colts. Some of the figures would just buzz around in circles sometimes, like Wayne Hunter, but we loved that thing. We also used to play table top/finger football a lot. I was pretty good at field goals! You'd put your two thumbs together and stick up your index fingers to make a goal post and then make fake crowd noise, lol. My childhood wasn't all bad.
This is kind of the point. You can’t compare a guy who has a shaky track record in a small sample size to a guy like Coles who was just about everything you could want in a receiver and got better every year he was here, ending with a 1200+ yard season the year we let him go. Talent wise there is absolutely no comparison. In three years the only area I would take Robby over him is speed.
My brother came down for SuperBowl weekend, and went digging through my parents attic.... He found all kinds of our old toys, including his old electric football (he had JETS vs Giants. (i think he sent away for the guys.. probably around 1986-87) We even found my Dad's old one from the 50s (guessing) and it still worked! LOTS of Sierra Nevadas and a box of 30+ year old toys made for a fun day. ha
The more I think about it, the more this was the best possible option for us. -We keep him and he’s only making around $3 million this year, the most likely option. -He walks because a team gave him way too much based off a shaky track record/his off field issues and we get a 2nd round pick out of it which is more than he’s worth. -A team makes him a fair offer that we match, and now he’s locked up for however many years at a good price. What’s the issue here?
You do realize that you're saying "you can't compare a guy" and then you proceed to compare a guy right?
In the midst of our dogshit season Darnold really started to play great the last 5-6 games of the year...his main targets were Herndon and Anderson Don’t see why we would want to break this combo up now...especially when Anderson, who already is a top 3 deep threat in the league, has started to improve in other areas of his game Don’t want a 2nd round pick for him, I want him locked up
You can’t compare overall bodies of work which seems to be what’s going on. The only comparison you can make is their first three years since they both started their careers playing three years for the Jets. Coles was better hands-down.
I'm not. He's a 750 yard producer, who while only 25, is about to make 9.3 this season and get paid again next year. We could add a quality, young, inexpensive receiver or lineman for that pick. Guys like Roby and Nelson are fine bit players, but not with the money they are going to be making either this year of the next.
I wouldn't dare throw that away (your Dad's), I'm sure it's worth something. Probably has players that look like the Packers. Oh, and air hockey for the win! We also used to take straws and spitball at plastic army guys. We used to play marbles a lot, too. Don't get me started on cap guns. They probably don't even sell that shit anymore. And that cheap dime store thing with the bald guy where you'd take a magnet stick and move this black shit around and give him hair, a beard, a mustache, eyebrows. Spirograph. Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots. Operation. Candy Land. Etch a Sketch. Sigh. They just don't make 'em like they used to, and the ones that are still around are of course re-made and suck. I could be here all day. What was this about again? The hidden genius of Robby Anderson. Right.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the electric football QB's, who by comparison to the other players, in real-life stood about 12 feet tall with a club hand and absolutely horrible kicking leg.
