Hack really did look awful. I watched until half-time and his accuracy and touch were almost non-existent. The Iron QB, on the other hand, showed some ability. Trent Richardson also looked completely awful.
cut the kid some slack. he's not good, never was and probably never will be. however it's not his fault he was extremely over drafted. he shouldn't be judged as a second round talent who busted but rather a 5th round or lower draft pick who never panned out.
I'm surprised that Maccagnan hasn't paid off Hackenberg to just go away. Every time Hackenberg plays, he sucks worse than the last time, and every time he sucks, people wonder again how any GM, especially one who is supposed to an astute judge of talent, could ever see this guy as a second-round pick. It looks like this blown pick will follow Maccagnan forever, and it probably should..
I was really wrong on Hackenberg. I thought he had a bright future as an NFL starter and a 2nd Round pick could potentially be a bargain. I was so wrong, that even after Darnold was drafted, I thought the Jets should hang on to Hack just to let him progress and develop into a solid Back-Up QB. Oh well. My mistake and clearly more Mac's mistake.
No way. Hackenberg didn't collect $20 million guaranteed or come with the hope a top 10 pick usually brings.
You do watch Jet games don't you? Petty played awful the last few games he played after McCown's injury, just awful, so bad it was a shock Miami picked him up. But good luck to the lad he did have an arm before we got to work on him
Holy shit cakes Hackenberg is really bad at football. Wow. He has all the physical traits in the world but nothing else. Wolford is 10x the QB that Hack pretends to be and would be in the NFL if he had Hacks size.
Hack has made a lot of money off football so I don't feel too bad laughing at him. Plus he threw the Penn State coach under the bus and then blamed our coaching staff for his mechanics. Finally he claimed his mechanics are now fixed and went out there and sucked harder than ever.
He, I , you or anybody else would keep playing as long as someone is willing to pay. Why should he give it up?
