Leo is not an edge. He’s barely a 3-4 DE.

He’s an interior linemen. Watch how Williams used Donald. That’s how he’ll use Leo imo.

I'm talking about the rankings you started with, not the one you just brought up because you know I'm right.

I don't believe Leonard Williams is a defensive end in the 4-3 system. I think he's an interior lineman. I could be wrong but I see him playing inside.

Whoops, saw that you've already addressed that idea. Anyway, thanks for the insight

Officially official. Also announced Boyer is back. The fact that we didn’t announce an OC probably means we are waiting on that turd from Miami who makes every offense he’s a part of worse.

If Gase, Williams and Boyer stay in their lanes for each phase....I feel good about this team. They are all very respected in each of those roles. Obviously Gase has final say, but sounds like he has learned from his first run in Miami and if he stays humble and doesn't micromanage it could be a fun final product on Sundays!

Williams' defense is all about putting players in the right places to make plays.

This is going to be a scoring defense eventually. Mark my words.

This may actually catapult Adams into perennial 1st team All-Pro honors.

They have to find 2 ends though as this defense relies heavily on two ends.

Leo is 6’5 /300lbs with a much wider wingspan.

Donald is 6’1/280 with a shorter wingspan, which is perfect for interior linemen.

Leo is capable of playing both on the inside and on the edge, go back to his days in USC and you will see him constantly rotate where he rushed from.

Since Leo is fat, he may have to drop 10 lbs to gain a little bit of speed, but he is going to see a resurgence under Williams.

If we hire Loggains maybe Williams will stuff him in a locker.

I know we had a lot of FA’s on offense, but what about the D. Will Williams be able to overhaul the D like the offense will have the opportunity to do this offseason?

I don't believe there's any way a competent D coordinator like Williams will settle for the "hidden production" that the previous regime settled for from Leo. The guy has talent, a lot, IMHO and for whatever reason it just didn't translate into individual numbers. Leo, with Williams coaching, will have the chance to be elite...

    Nope.

this defense is about making plays not stuffing gaps.

Because the hypothetical post I was replying to said you don't need a head coach, just 2 cordinators. My reply was that you need a HC to make final decisions.

Hey. At least when they have to fire Gase they can’t use the nobody on the staff has experience excuse this time. That’s good!

I'm gonna say this right now:

We all need to prepare ourselves for Jamal Adams under Gregg Williams!

He had an amazing year this year. Imagining him under a Gregg Williams coached defense? Jesus

I see Leo as a 4-3 DE on base D who will kick inside on passing downs ala Justin Tuck.

That said I still believe we will run a hybrid D to keep opponents guessing and to maximize our talent (as opposed to a straight 4-3 conversion).
Leo's versatility will be valuable in that sense as he can play 7, 5, 3, 1 or 0 tech.
