I agree some of the CBA is crazy. I get not contact, practice et during the offseason. Why guys can't be sent tape or talk to a coach about a few things is crazy to me. That's what they negotiated. They are ways around it. I think Darnold works with one of the qb coaches. Orlovsky, Palmer one of them not sure who. Something tells me the coach can talk to the qb coach and get messages sent that way. Could be wrong but have a feeling that is the way it works or a way to get around it. Hopefully in the next CBA they can talk about a way where players and coaches can look at tape together or dissect it. Maybe shutdown from the time the season ends until March 1st. The dialogue can take place. Who knows. We'll see in 2021 with the new CBA.
They wouldn't but if someway somehow it were found out we'd get fined and who know, forfeit picks? Just not worth it. Blame the Players Union on this one.
I think teams get around this all the time. You recommend a QB coach for the player to hire on his own who is familiar with the new coach's offensive philosophy (let's say Peyton Manning). The QB coach is not employed by the team, but he tends to be friendly with the coaching staff. The QB coach periodically gets together with the OC for some beers, where, as old colleagues, they just happen to discuss some Xs and Os, etc.
