Ok time to hold on here--did anyone else hear this? Just listened to Gase on with Michael Kay, LaGrecca and Rosenberg on ESPN radio--was at least a 30 minute interview. Off. The. Charts. He was great, bright, extremely talkative, funny, self deprecating, humble when he needed to be and had zero problem laughing at himself because of all the chatter out there about him--a 180 degree difference from the press conference. Completely comfortable. Honestly, if you can find it somewhere, give it a listen because you will get a completely different feel for who this guys is. IMHO we 100% made the right decision with this guy. I know it's just words but he was that good. He gets it. Talked about players, assembling his staff, the Jets history--totally gets the 50 year SB thing--said Namath sent him an awesome text when he got the job (he noted on the 50th anniversary) and said they had a great exchange. I am really starting to like this guy--don't give a shit about memes or bug eyes and neither does he and he said so. Chris Johnson came on after and he was also much better than the press conference but Gase was really really good. And I did not like this hire originally.
He sounded literally like a completely different person than the creepy stiff looking guy at the press conference. A GREAT interview.
Love his intense attitude. You are either in or you are out. Fuck yes. Mo would have lasted a week with him. We have now officially moved from zombie coaching to psycho coaching. Exactly what we needed.,He sold the deal for me with his answer regarding finishing games. Preparation, attention to details, contingency planning and more preparation.
He had answers for everything. Ajaiy, players not liking him, his arrogance, him being the smartest person in the room, Peyton, Ross, Sam, calling his own plays, everything and he hit it out of the park. Really you have to listen to this interview. He was actually pretty funny and personable.
The whole time I was watching the press conference, the tune, psycho killer just kept playing in my head. I literally gotta rewatch it now because I didn't retain anything other than... Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better Good Ol' talking heads. Fun times. Sigh.
All these posts about his eyes........., sometimes the internet just makes my day. Besides that, the guy had solid answers to everything and at least talked the talk, now lets see if he can actually produce for us
I mean the eyes were bad. I try not to let stuff like that bother me but i couldn’t get through 2 minutes of the PC.
Here you go. It's only 8 1/2 minutes but it seemed like a lot longer. Still looks bug-eyed but I only listened to the audio. http://web.yesnetwork.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=2522136583
I just read the last 8 pages of comments since the Press Conference. Great stuff, guys! That is why I love TGG. You guys crack me up. The Press Conference wasn't anything special, but I like what I heard from Gase. The best part was when he corrected Eric Allen after. It showed he has a great memory and also doesn't mind correcting people. Ironically, that was Sam's worst performance of the year, so maybe that is why EA forgot. Jets Fans: I am not sure about Adam Gase. Hopefully his Press Conference will win me over! Adam Gase: Jets Fans: Well okay then!
