This might be the hold up: "3. Clash of egos: If Gase hires Williams to run the defense ... oh, man, that'll be must-see TV. Gase has a headstrong personality and Williams can be downright maniacal, as viewers of HBO's "Hard Knocks" witnessed last summer with its series on the Cleveland Browns. Florham Park, New Jersey, could turn into Florham Sparks. The plot would thicken if Gase brings aboard his father-in-law, former longtime coach Joe Vitt, currently the Dolphins' senior director of football and player development. Vitt and Williams were members of the New Orleans Saints' coaching staff that got busted in the Bounty Gate scandal. In fact, Vitt testified against Williams, who was suspended for an entire season. Who doesn't love a good soap opera?"

If I'm Gregg I rather be with us but I'm not him so. Behind the scenes he may see a HC opp with Washington tho if Gruden continues to fizzle.
Washington's personnel is better. Both are tough because he'd be converting both 3-4 to 4-3 potentially and will have to find players to fit in both schemes.
Love how it is Gase fault if we dont get Williams. As if we know what salaries hes being offered, what control each job entails or what Williams prefers.
The Jets have been eyeballing Williams so long that their or is it they're LOL eyes must really hurt by now
Well, just like the whiny bitches correctly predicted that Gase fucked up by not extending Brant Boyer...
Gase said in his presser that they aren't going to rush through the coaching process. First off, you've had days. Second, if you don't move quick you're going to lose the best candidate available.
Going to be tremendously disappointed if we don't hire Gregg Williams. We really don't ever get our first option on anything do we? At this point most of the big time coordinators are gone and he's the last one left....
