Actually, if you stand real still, you can feel the apathy and resignation slowly start to set in.

 

Seems this hire is imminent. What do we think about the potential switch to the 4-3 base? Our personnel doesn't fit the base 3-4 or 4-3 perfectly but I could definitely see some players benefit from switching to the 4-3--namely Leonard Williams (3 tech) and Darron Lee (practically a weak side prototype). Williamson would make a solid Mike and Jenkins definitely fits the sam mold quite well. It should also free us up to go after a 4-3 edge rusher in free agency or the draft with some noteworthy guys being available: Nick Bosa, Clelin Ferrell, Demarcus Lawrence, Trey Flowers (plz).

Wasn't a huge fan of the Gase hiring but i'm optimistic about what he and William's could bring in tandem.

 

Gregg Williams should be in jail instead of pacing on any sidelines. I hate this scumbag. I don't want him anywhere near the Jets sidelines.

 

At least we know the Jets want him as their DC & are in talks with him and that if it doesn't work out it's not because they weren't going after him. I am cautiously optimistic about signing Williams. He will make a big difference in the attitude of the defense....maybe bring out the dawg in some players! He will also change my attitude towards the 2019 season.

 

Sort of like the weight of ineptitude that comes from 50 years of futility and broken promises.

Per internet, as of 18 hours ago Rappaport, reported Gase wanted Williams and to get this all signed

If this guy can put a stop to the wide open opposing receiver that doesn't have a jet defender within 10 yards of him, I'm all for it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here NY, but could Mac be the holding factor here. I do believe he executes a combination of due diligence and penny pinching approach to capturing talent. To me this is a no brainer, and a huge, as in fucking huge upgrade over our previous non existing defensive coaching. I saw less out of position defensive plays at the Mater Dei HS football game than with the Jets. Talk about being off by about 15 yards.

 

If this guy can figure out after 6 shallow crossers that he needs to sit someone in that zone I’m all for it.

I don't like to just blindly root for the people associated with the Jets only because they happen to BE Jets. I want to LIKE this team! I wouldn't root for the Jets if they had Hitler as QB just because he wore the colors green and white and happened to have a tight spiral and some accuracy. The only time in my life when I rooted against my own team is when they had that dog torturer behind center, Michael Vick. I wanted to see him get his ass kicked no matter what color his jersey was. Gregg Williams is slime. To want wins no matter who provides it just stinks of desperation. Let's get people with integrity and some morality. There are great football people out there who possess those traits too. Let's find them.
