No more chances. I'll watch when we are in the playoffs. I feel as though I am damned to the afterlife of Gilgamesh. To eternally wander the desert with sand in my mouth. That is the fate of Jets fans. But unlike Gilgamesh who's life was worth living because of his accomplishments, the Jets have accomplished nothing and so being a Jets fan is no longer worth it.

I think Gase is like Joe Torre when the Yankees first hired him. Gase gets this offensegoing with couple of good players around Darnold, the team is going to be fun to watch.

Even assholes can recover and build from a failed experience.

Bill Belichick failed in Cleveland and then later thrived. All it takes is the right chemistry. I do think Gase and Darnold will get along really well. McCarthy may have had a ego that was so big for a job that it may have been better to just get a offensive mind that knows the division a bit as well.

Its still a shitty move cause players hated him

Walter at Walter football loves the hire.

Jets hire HC Adam Gase: A+ Grade
This is the best hire of this offseason. Adam Gase, once called the "next Bill Belichick" by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, coached two of three seasons in Miami with his starting quarterback healthy. In those two seasons, Gase took the Dolphins took the playoffs once and had them in postseason contention in the other before Ryan Tannehill got banged up during a victory against the Patriots and was never the same after that. Tannehill, by the way, was one of the worst starters at his position in the NFL. It was quite amazing and impressive that Gase was able to keep the Dolphins in contention despite not having a viable quarterback.

This won't be a problem with the Jets. Gase will be able to coach Sam Darnold. This seems like a great fit. Gase has coached up bad quarterbacks to play well, and average quarterbacks to perform on a somewhat high level.

Gase will be able to help Darnold take the next step. This is a fantastic hire, fully worthy of an A+.

Much more talent actually. Piss poor coaching. That team should have won more.
Bowles offenses scored more 2 out of 3 years.
His play calling was as bad as Bates and equally predictable. Screen passes on first and second down, run up the middle on 3 Rd and 10. Exact opposite but equally bad.

With all of this talk about the QBs that Gase has developed, please help me out with this. Who exactly has he developed? He had Peyton Manning in Denver, who was already a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame when Gase got there. Jay Cutler and Ryan Tannehill are the other feathers in this guy's cap? Maybe the guys in Detroit (Kitna, O'Sullivan, and Orlovsky) or maybe Shaun Hill and Jamie Martin in San Francisco?

This is the QB guru we hired, rather than the guy who developed Aaron Rodgers into a perennial MVP candidate.

Screw that...Bowles and Hue Jackson are the only two coaches I for sure would want Gase over.

He had full control of the roster and draft. Tanny was VP of football operations, strictly worked #s, Gaines was GM, in charge of scouting and draft, but Gase had final say over picks
