Too bad we couldn't just bring in Kliff as our OC. Now THAT I think everyone can get on board for.

Yeah that would be a very solid start.

I haven't been high on Kingsbury but with Greg Williams ... I could buy into that. That's a big ?? though.

I'd prefer someone a bit more level headed with a total rookie coach. Maybe a Pagano, who was previously the DC with the Ravens (prior to Colts).

This dude Manish actually wrote out the words "Kiss Sexbury". Kliff should take the job and have Manish's credentials revoked.

If you are going to hire him to be a coach on the team, it might as well be as the head coach. If his offense ends up being as good as everyone thinks it would be, he would get poached after a year or 2 anyways.

I admit I'm warming to Kingsbury. Just hope the Jets look at substance. How he'll unite a locker room, deal with adversity, does he understand situational football etc instead of just assuming he's McVay 2.0 and have visions in their head of all the media attention they'd get from hiring coach Ryan Gosling.

McCarthy isn't the most exciting name and isn't a back page stealing HC like Rex was, but he's thorough and dedicated and has been through the wars before. He's still the guy I want. He'd change the culture in a big way too.

Bowles filling in for 3 games after Sparano got fired doesn't really qualify as proper NFL head coaching experience. To my mind, NFL coaching experience means, at the very least, getting hired, taking a team through training camp, an entire NFL season, the offseason, including the subsequent draft and player acquisition process etc. Three games in Miami as head coach certainly didn't make Bowles any better prepared to coach the Jets based on his results here.

Kliff Kingsbury - an empty (warmup) suit. How is anyone seriously considering this guy? Yes, he has been a (quite unsuccessful) head coach, but at the college level. Haven't the Jets and Jets fans finally gotten the message that bringing in guys without NFL head coaching experience, or at least head coaching experience combined with extensive NFL time is a recipe for disappointment, if not disaster.

This is a guy who may have a great future ahead of him but he's not ready to lead this parade today. As they say on Shark Tank, "I'm out!"

I gotta say I don’t get their interest in Kliff

    He is the anti McCarthy

They said they were big game hunting. I don’t see him as big game

Confirmed that he's interviewing for our HC position today. (not sure if it needs its own thread or if this thread can just be the Kingsbury thread)

    Solid thread.

I was thinking we needed more than a thread or two where we could discuss this.

Yeah what the hell is the point of the thread? It's not like we're going to get any actual info out of said interview. There's already a Kingsbury expected to interview thread anyway, apart from the coaching thread.

    Give me Rhule/Kliff or Monken/Kliff

    *FAP*

I don't think Kliff is being considered for HC per say, possibly for OC as a combo. But what do I really know...

A Rhule/Kingsbury combo seems ideal as if Rhule is hired the OC will be the next most important hire. If Monken or Kingsbury get the HC job the DC will be the next most important hire.
