Kliff Kingsbury has hardly had time to settle in as USC’s offensive coordinator. Kingsbury, who has held the job for less than a month, has drawn interest from some NFL teams in search of a head coach.

According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, Kingsbury is expected to interview with the Cardinals and the Jets. Two other teams in search of head coaches told Robinson that Kingsbury is on their list of candidates but not currently targeted for an interview.

Kingsbury’s phone reportedly was “ringing off the hook” from NFL teams interested in hiring the former Texas Tech head coach after the Red Raiders fired him.

Kingsbury’s success with quarterbacks has made him an intriguing name in NFL circles, with Case Keenum, Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes among those he has coached.

Kingsbury, 39, played in one NFL game as a quarterback with the Jets in 2005. He also spent time with the Patriots, Saints and in the CFL.

I'll stick with McCarthy. We don't need a coach that learns on the job. A coach with NFL experience is our best bet. We don't need to interview all these scrubs. Bring in McCarthy for an interview and don't let him leave without a contract!

Dude was fired from Texas Tech. For performance. Why is he even getting interviews from anyone??

pro football reference says it was at the end of a 27-0 loss at Denver in 2005, dropping the Jets to 2-8. I don't remember the game let alone Kingsbury ever playing

Adams and Maye both want Kingsbury. Interesting considering they’re 2 defensive guys.

Maybe as OC, but not as HC. He has no NFL coaching experience! The Jets cannot afford to experiment with completely unknown quantities.

Does Jamal Adams ever shut up

Good player. But we don't need you chiming in on every single god damn thing

He’s got pro experience as a player. That’s extremely useful.

He’s done wonders with multiple QBs.

I can get behind this but his staff would have to be great. Similar to McVay hiring Wade Phillips, he’d need that experienced DC with him.

Of all things to be upset about. Might as well just trade Adams if this bothers you.

I saw that. I don't understand why. They both played in the SEC. Kingsbury coached in the Big 12. How do they even know anything about him? And not just that, know enough and like him enough to publicly endorse him? Odd.

Exactly,,,,,,but these are the guys you will have to interview and settle on when you come right out and say that the NEW COACH will have limited input in personal decisions---ps I will be shocked if Mike McCarthy signs on for this ,,,,,,,any reputable coach will not come here but lets wait n see how this plays out before me and everyone else continues to dump on these clowns

Experience as a player doesn't prepare you for being an NFL HC. Look at how many first time OC/DC fail because the step up is too much. I want to see what he can do as an OC or QBC first.
