Ever since fat man got ejected in Pack game, Jets D went to pot...like his belly...fat man, shouldn't punch
Jim Harbaugh's teams play defense. Maybe he can give Williams the kick in the butt he needs. In Harbaugh I trust.
I thought Leonard played pretty well today...... you know...... before he went all Mike Tyson. Honestly, though, I kind of liked that Leo punched that guy. Showed he had some emotion. Half the time it looks like he could care less. He cared today, but lost control after that play.
Defense played like shit when Leonard left the game. Did anyone notice? Jets were getting to the QB in the first half. Leonard may not be the sack artist we hoped, but the guy plays a pretty integral role.
Yeah, it was more than just a coincidence that Rodgers had plenty of time after El Gordo was ejected from the game...
There absolutely was a discernible difference in the amount of time Rodgers had in the pocket after Williams left.
He was being held and must’ve been really frustrated. Throwing the punch was inexcusable and ultimately cost us the game. He should’ve known better. He gets a lot of crap, but he’s a good player and him being gone was noticeable.
But wait, I thought Williams was trash!? He's an EXCELLENT run defender and he's actually the Jets best pass rusher from the interior. Again, Anderson is good and maybe underrated, but remember, he's now a pass rusher only. He rarely plays on run downs (McLendon, Pennel, Shepard actually play mostly as run defenders and in a rotation). Leo plays ALL game, literally 85-90% of the snaps. I'd venture that if his snaps we're dialed back a bit, he may be more effective, but that's just an observation.
Especially when those numbers relate to something he's not being asked to do as a primary part of his role.
In the paper the next day, what else is there. I read Jets gave up 540 yards. Williams sucks. In addition to being fat.
Indeed, the pass rush and run defense completely went to shit after Williams was ejected. That was the turning point of the game. Williams has been doing the dirty work.
Did anyone see a clear angle of the punch? I remember on TV they showed like 5 different angles and each one cut away right before. It wasn't a punch, it was just his flab flopping around. Should have been inadvertent.
