He was already under contract for 2019. Ravens wouldn't need to extend him to protect their asset.

Sorry, can't make sense out of your post.
Jason La Canfora posted a piece that he thought the Ravens and Harbaugh would part ways after the season. Neither the Ravens or Harbaugh ever commented on it.
He was under contract through 2019 based on a contract extension he received in 2017. They are currently working on another extension .

Give me McCarthy. What the hell. We can do worse. Bring in someone who kept Rodgers under check for a long time.

That;s the problem: who is going to pick the newbie who becomes the next good HC? Because the Jets have NEVER done that. If this was the Steelers or Packers or Cowboys, I'd say OK, let's trust management to hire a new guy, but the Johnson brothers couldn't even hire the right consultants let alone find a good coach. I'm in the camp of hiring a guy with NFL HC experience.

I think he's the (and I hate to say this) safest choice but he could have a Parcells effect on the franchise.

As much as I'd love a hot young offensive wizard, how do you know if you are getting the next McVay?

Trusting the Brothers Johnson to blindly throw a dart and find the next McVay at this point is as likely as me banging Margot Robbie, maybe worse.

Give me McCarthy at this point and hope for the best...

Guys like Harbaugh, McCarthy and Tomlin don't appeal to me. I think a lot of head coaches would have been capable of winning with those teams, especially with the Packers. Also the track record of Super Bowl winning coaches on new teams is not good.

Won't matter even if we get lucky with a newbie HC because Mac will still be the GM. We need a guy like McCarthy to smash some sense into the organization.

I think McCarthy ends up in Cleveland.
Their FO , John Dorsey, Alonzo Highsmith and Eliot Wolf are all from the Packers and have long relationships with him.

Actually the Jets did pick a newbie who turned into better than a good HC, they just may have picked him too early and definitely got rid of him too early.

Quite possible. But unlike Cleveland, we can give McCarthy control over the front office. Plus Cleveland isn't firing Kitchens, which means McCarthy wouldn't be calling plays there.

    Ron Rivera please.:)

I think the mystery team that's getting set to go hard after Jim Harbaugh this upcoming offseason is Miami. PFT had a report on them yesterday they didn't mention that possibility in the article but I think I'm pretty good at connecting dots.

Has McCarthy ever had control of a FO? Not sure that's the best Idea.
Kitchens could very well force the Browns hand. He wants the HC position. Don't know that he would stay as OC

    Lotsa inferior HCs do.

Good luck trying to find many people that believe McCarthy is anywhere near the caliber of HC Reid is.

Imagine calling McCarthy inferior and then clamor for Ron Rivera. Imagine that.
