They need an Extra Point Specialist though.

I tried to look it up but had no luck. My gut feeling is he has had at least 3-4 fumbles/muffs.

Absolutely, if we're sticking with a similar D, but we got him for so little from the Colts because they were switching to a 4-3... at least if I'm remembering correctly. Anderson didn't fit that and they wanted to unload him for that reason. I'd be hesitant about a new contract for him until a new HC and/or DC is resolved.

    You remember correctly.
That goes for several of our FAs. The coach better be in place, along with his staff well before free agency. One consideration is our current personal. Would a shift to 4-3 mean using early draft picks in a defense heavy draft to accommodate the change. The prospects are certainly there in this draft but protecting Darnold has to be the priority this off season.

I would only point out that people are saying both "the Jets have loads of money" and "the Jets only have 29 players under contract going forward." The latter makes the former somewhat misleading. The Jets actually have a good deal less money available for free agents than it might seem, because they need to sign 15 - 20 of their own players. Other teams don't need to do that, so their less money might not really be less money.

I have brought up this exact thing. We currently have 34 players set to become free agents at the end of the season. Granted we're not going to resign all of them, which was the argument I got when I pointed it out, but we do have to replace them. Hopefully with upgrades, and we still have to keep some reserve money for injuries and emergency signings.

Well when I posted I thought it was one, so couldn't quite understand why he would make you nervous, considering he has been one of the brightest spots of a shit season it seemed a little odd to me.

Excellent point! Wouldn't that just be our luck? We get a new HC who wants to run a 4-3 D alignment. While I prefer that alignment, and it would be a great draft in which to make that switch, it would probably mean that protecting Sam and upgrading the offense is ignored yet again. We would probably grab one of Bosa, Allen or Ferrell in the 1st and a DT with our first pick of the 3rd round (or trade up into the 2nd), and maybe even take a CB with our next pick, then they'd use the 5th and 2-7th round picks on the offense or STs players.

Kris Jenkins will always be my one of my favorite Jets fatties. And he really was fat. I sense that this is never going to die. WarriorRB28's thread has been gaining traction. I wonder if he's ever tried to get a feel for the city, has a bad day at the airport, or if it hurts when he urines. He must respond.

I loved Roberts this season. I always thought the Rex Jets teams were good because they scored on Special Teams. Roberts had shades of some of the great Westhoff coached return men we have had in the past.

Thanks for the Positive Post Bud

We all tend to be so hypercritical of this team (myself included)

I don't think this means MM is GM of the year for locating two gems but I give him credit where it's due

NC and Tony are absolutely correct that the new HC will have a big say about any talented players we keep

Macs track record has mostly been influenced by this present HC..so Mac will likely be directed by the new one

Nah he’s getting the attention of the entire offensive line. Teams even bring an extra full back on the play to block him. If he only had three people blocking him he would get his sacks, but unfortunately that’s not the case.

I think since Mac would be picking his coach, he would look for one that wants to run a 3-4 or a hybrid. Obviously trading Anderson for a 7th makes him look really good for that move and he’d be undoing it if we signed him to a contract and then went 4-3.

3 fumbles total. whether they were all lost or not doesn't make it any better. 3 fumbles is a lot for a returner.

1 lost fumble, if you don't think there's a difference between lost fumbles and recovered fumbles, I don't know what to tell you. He's the best returner in the game this season.
