My only concern with all this playoff talk is that if we do happen to drop a few games and not make it, all the "same old Jets" talk will start again, and everyone will view the season as a disappointment, when in reality, I think no matter what happens at this point, it's been a great season.
That's right. I'm sick and tired of people jinxing things by speculating about a wild card birth, especially since we know we're going to take the division and get home field advantage.
Let us be. Couple of months ago we thought around this time we would be talking about top 5 draft picks and do we take Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson or Gaines Adams. Now were talking about making the playoffs. I'll take the latter anyday.
I say talk about the playoffs all we want! The players are the ones who need to focus, not us! The way I see things, I was going to be kneedeep in NCAA basketball by now, because I was expecting that the Jets season would be over. But things are what they are, and the Jets are playing excellent football right now, and I say we enjoy it to the hilt! Who knows better then Jets fans how long it might be until we can talk playoffs again.
:lol: Same here, at the beginning of the season I thought by this time I would be hearing all about how great the Steelers are. No matter what happens the rest of the year, these past few weeks have been wonderful. :grin:
Your right if we were true jet fans we would respect manginis wishes and not speak of the "P" word and look at the team 6 inches in front of our faces and beat the hell out of the bills:beer: we WILL make the playoffs but we gotta take it one week at a time and see how the other teams play out
The victory over the Pats is still the standout win for me. We could lose all our remaining games, and I'd still be high from that game.
I don't see the harm in letting people dream about a playoff rebuilding team. In 2 weeks we could certainly be eliminated from the playoffs completely, and then they will just be sitting there hoping for a spoiler win or that their favorite college player falls to the middle of the first round. If this team is going to make the playoffs then the believers want their voices heard first.
The SOJ stuff is going to keep coming back until we win a championship, there is no way to get around it anymore.
Tell ya what Jet fans......I think Coach has this team right were he needs them to be. I'd be real excited if i seen 1 or 2 deep balls completed each game......but thats not a necessity......just keep the chains moving! As for this weeks game.....I think we'll win, rather convincingly, not a cake walk, but a solid victory. Its about time for a big win at home down the stretch. I'd like to say, we're gonna run the table......and we can, but one game at a time. I'm thinking big....REAL BIG......Seems each year a team is tagged with that Cinderella label......and magical things can happen.........I cant even imagine what that would be like........heck, just so happens the Super Bowl is on my birthday this year..........Our team is focused, at the right time of the year, we've sat back and watched other teams do it...........I believe it is our time.............even against the odds! Believe Jet Fans!
