As Sam has ball to win game I WAS rooting for the kid. I WAS all in. I know I talk about losing out, but deep inside I always want to win. But a win didn’t happen. And instead of usual disgust, I was happy. Sam had another solid game Sam looked like he was playing and not thinking. The backs looked decent, even Cannon despite the drop was ok. The O line had that awesome goal line “pure grit” score The defense had good moments led by 33 along with a lot of sacks Trumaine shit show proved salary cap money is golden and should not be wasted on past performance ( wake up Macc) Bowles was exposed (as usual) as a moron for not throwing challenge flag (they still eventually got first down) Bates (not Morton) was exposed (again) for his play calling The young players did see how good they can be. So we came back, took the lead, and blew it late and I’m cool. I can envision this team, with obvious changes, being an actual threat next year and many more. And we didn’t fuck up our 2019 draft spot.
Yeah the one that was better than Bates but Bowles got rid of him because “he didn’t run the ball enough” and “they didn’t get along”. That might have been a decision that cost Bowles his job.
I still don’t understand that. In the 2 games Josh started this year under Bates it was horrendous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Let's not forget that Morton was also a big exponent of the run, run start to a down, I can remember people screaming for the pass in the game threads last year, due to McCown hitting Robby long on several occasions but mainly I don't miss the scared conservative play calling that appeared once we had a lead, as we then suddenly changed tack and fell away to another loss, from memory there must have been 4,5 games like that under Morton, of course Bowles could have pulled rank and demanded conservative play to hold on etc
Yeah that was on Bowles. Morton is gone but the conservative play calling lives on. Any lead the Jets get they pucker up and go ultra conservative and usually lose. Last night was no different.
The only time it was good yesterday was when Sam was let loose on a hurry-up offence and he must have been calling his own plays, you would think somebody would get the message that the plays being dialled in are shit from both OC and HC. Roll on next season when hopefully we will have a progressive HC backed up by competent staff
We also kept the Texans in the race for the #2 seed. God i hope Pittsburgh finds a way to win later. Perhaps New England finally is not playing on Championship weekend, or even divisional weekend.
just watching a replay of the game again and that second to last play for the Texans were they got the spot after Hopkins was tackled in the air and carried back towards the line, no way on gods earth did they reach the first down marker, next throw TD. It was a foot short minimum.
Loved what I saw from Sam yesterday, the guy is starting to feel more comfortable & it shows... pair him with a competent HC and the sky's the limit for year #2. It's painfully obvious that Bates is in over his head with his unimaginative & predictable playcalling... this team needs an exorcism at seasons end.
Yeah, and coupled with the bullshit spot against has that Bowles didn't challenge...in fact Bowles not challenging pissed me off more than the bad spot .
