That game was one of the few times where going for 2 was justified at the end. Can't believe they blew the coverage on that and left Williams wide open when he was killing them all night. Kind of an epic fail there. Officiating was pure garbage.
Settle 100% of the time. They are not good enough offensively to justify doing that, IMO, unless they were against a top offense in the league.
If we're so terrible that we don't have at least ~40-45% odds to punch it in from the 2, we cannot be trusted to score in overtime. 17-16, 0:00 on the clock against the Texans tomorrow (yeah yeah I know), I'd rather go for the jugular right there. I readily admit that I am an advocate for teams going for 2 waaaaaaaaay the fuck more often than they do now, so I'm not unbiased here.
It all depends on the confidence. And that of making it. Along with the defense being blindsided like that of in the Chiefs. If you want to go for two.
I like going for 2 overall, it's much more entertaining. I agree, if teams are committed they should do it almost every touchdown. For teams with elite offenses it has to be greater than 50%, so there is no excuse for them. The Jets definitely can't be trusted to put the ball in the end zone on a single do or die attempt. I say they are far more likely to put a FG scoring drive together in overtime than come through on something like that. At least not as the team is presently constructed. Maybe next year
If teams do it every time, the probability of success may go down because they'll have to use less effective plays than the ones they save for big moments.
I also think Lynn was playing with house money. The Chargers are still a wild card if they win or lose. He didn't have that much to lose, and realistically the Chiefs should have won and winning on the road on a Thursday night against the top seed is difficult, Lynn decided to go for the win knowing if they lost, they weren't really losing much. If the Chargers were say 8-5, I think he goes to overtime, but they are 10-3 and have a ton of breathing room. It just made sense to go for the steal on the road against the top seed. All the pressures on KC to win in Seattle now, and ill just say it right now; they wont win. They look like a typical Andy Reid Chiefs team thats reeling into the playoffs, and just went 1-1 at home and could have easily been 0-2 at home/1-3 over the last 4, heading into Seattle.
We brought Perriman in for a workout, not sure why we didn't just take a chance on him. Couldn't be worse than what we currently have.
Wow Greg Williams May have cost the Browns the game. Called a TO just as the defense went into the neutral zone. Game over. Oooof.
And the Browns win and are still...in the playoff picture? Geezuz. Huge win going to Denver and winning for the first time in 11 meetings between the teams. The fucking Cleveland Browns.
Browns have won 4/5...what’s changed? Oh ya getting rid of their crappy coach unlike the jets. This team should be in the playoffs this year if they started the year without Jackson
Gotta go for Spittsburgh vs. the Cheats. I don't think they pull it off, though. Roethlisrapist is dinged up with a few others but James Conner is coming back so who is to say. By the way I've been calling the Steelers Spittsburgh for years because Bill Cowher was always spitting. And I don't mean on the ground.
Vikings completely destroying the Fins in the first quarter. Yet another AFC East crown for the Pats.
:/ Going for Miami feels . . . so unnatural, but sometimes it needs to be done. What's the score? I don't have Red Zone.
