Like my drunk uncle always used to say...

"Don't use the N word around black people."

The Jets need to stay far away from this. He should get the Ray Rice treatment from the other 31 teams, although I suppose it's always possible that Washington will put in a claim for him.

I never seen the kick the video I found at 5am this morning was just the shove, her flailing an arm at him and then another shove when a man and the woman end up on the floor.

Mixon threw a fucking haymaker out of the blue on a 6 stone blonde girl and it is already mostly forgotten about, we are fucking desperate and I say sign him up but make a show of taking the player to counselling sessions and be all contrite about second chances etc.

Watching the video, all I was able to see was him shoving a man and the man falling into the woman, knocking her over. Followed by a "kick" which looked more like a foot tap, with no wind up from him or blow back response from her. It's as if he realized mid-swing that he was about to contact a woman, and held back. She was either drunk and couldn't get up, or acting for the cameras and staying down.

I'm completely against hitting women and I don't condone any unwanted physical contact, so he was in the wrong. He definitely needs to be smarter than that especially with his profile and the abundance of cameras these days.

I believe in second chances, and I also believe the Jets need a good RB next year.

TBH very few NFL are err .."model citizens" I mean not even close..lmao

Construct the Contract so he goes for 6 months of counseling or he is off the team..

The Judge will order mandatory counseling anyway

Macagnan will probably sit on his hands for a change

Some team will sign him when they can. Look at Mike Vick. The concern I have is that now it looks like he may face charges. What’s the sentence on assault and battery these days in that state? Is he looking at incarceration or probation? If the Jets would have to wait 2 years to get him should they bother? I am not in favor of men hitting women, or anyone assaullting another, but people make mistakes. This was a doozie.

Just a tad different to Ray Rice though don't ya think?

I mean he completely and utterly knocked his own woman out with a ferocious punch, not really the same as half pushing and sort of kicking out at a good time gal who had already scratched your face or slapped it or whatever.

I am not into beating a woman up but there is a surely a big difference between this and Rice/Mixon and we won't even go down Rapey Ben's route to stardom.

Circumstances might be different but in the end, it's a similar result. The NFL should have zero tolerance for this kind of thing. You're probably going to be sent packing from virtually every other workplace in the country for doing something like this, why should the NFL be any different. A man, and especially a professional athlete who is considerably bigger and stronger, should never put his hands on a woman. Period. The NFL's response to these situations under Goodell have been an absolute joke, and that includes him turning a complete blind eye to Roethlisberger's transgressions.

Well, if Hunt gets a second chance and Kaep doesn't, it speaks volumes as to what the NFL's true values are.

You couldn’t be more wrong-almost no other job in America would fire you for this considering he was never charged with anything. This tape would’ve never been released by tmz if it was some nobody. Only sports figures, celebrity spokespeople, high profile executives etc. who have name recognition get fired from a tape posted on Tmz. Carlos the counter guy from jiffy lube wouldn’t be getting fired for this

Bold 1 Actually, without a conviction, this wouldn't be true as they would have no grounds for dismissal unless it was on work time/uniform/property.
Bold 2 Nonsense, if you are having your eyes gouged out by a woman, you not just going to stand stock still smiling as she attacks you... PERIOD

Exactly. Yet another reason to discontinue watching the NFL.

Maybe the Jets should sign him. Would give me a reason to drop this franchise once and for all.

    What values?

Elliott (though I am unsure if there was any actual proof of his crime), Mixon, Big Ben and no doubt countless others are still players, why wouldn't Hunt get a second chance?

Now if the league rule was banning on conviction then we all know were we stand on that score.

Some team's going to pick him up and the almighty righteous media coverage will eventually end.

It might as well be us. Sign this beast!

We have a golden opportunity to sign a player on the cheap who can play at a pro bowl level.

You guys want a weapon that can help Sam Darnold out of a jam when seven defenders are about to rip him in half?

    This is it!

I can not think of a better fit for out needs than this guy.

The best part is that what he has been cut for has absolutely nothing to do with his play on the field or his ability yo get along with others in the locker room.

Hunt was absolutely stupid and handled the situation very poorly. It’s unfortunate but the combination of alcohol and being young often times result in mistakes being made and he paid the price for his mistake.

With that said he absolutely will get a second chance and should and it will be monumentally stupid for the Jets not to put in a claim for this kid.

The ownership still is very PR conscious but they did sign Mike Vick and withstood his baggage. Its not like Hunt drilled the woman with a haymaker and from what I've read, the reason why he got released was because he lied about it and it was a second incident. Yeah, the kid has a temper but you have to wonder if that is what makes Hunt who he is.

We have RA as our example of a kid with a temper. We gave him a second chance although his performance this year is meh. I don't see any reason why not to sign Hunt.

If a woman is about to scratch my eyes out or injure me in any way, I'm gonna stop her from doing it period. Does that make me a woman abuser? No it doesn't. it makes me someone that doesn't want to get injured no matter the sex of the person intending to do me harm.

Sign Hunt. He'll be cheaper than Bell, thankful for a second chance and a change of scenery. Maybe he'll be able to handle the Tri-state lifestyle or maybe he turns into Braylon Edwards. Only one way to find out...And by the way, we've been out of the playoffs for 8 straight years. What do we have to lose except PR?

Younger Le’Veon Bell at a fraction of the cost. Put out a statement that he won’t play for rest of year while he gets the help he needs. By TC no ones talking about this and we have a young stud RB without having to use 17ish mil or a high draft pick.

It’s such a no brainer, hopefully Raiders don’t claim him before we get the chance.
