Just because Kevin Greene was a great player doesn't mean that he's anywhere near qualified to be a coordinator. We don't have a QB Coach, so we don't have someone who could become OC. Rick Dennison has experience as an OC, but he was pretty bad, and as bad as the OL has been, he certainly doesn't deserve a promotion.
we are talking about until the end of this season. getting rid of the other 3 will amount to addition by subtraction.
Pros: nobody was attacked by a shark. Cons: nobody was attacked by a shark Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
You can't get rid of Blowes without getting rid of the architect of this trainwreck too. They're both responsible for this shit along with the Johnson Kid and his Extensions.
You said Bowles should be fired immediately, so firing Bowles and making Rodgers HC accomplishes that. Then you said keeping Bowles as HC would insure a high draft pick presumably because he's so bad the Jets would not win many games from here on. Rodgers would most likely be just as bad or worse solidifying our desire to get a top draft pick. Two birds, one stone.
I know that it would only be to the end of the season, but things could get a lot worse between now and then.
Thanks for the clarification. Still don't like that, because Rodgers is the last person who deserves a promotion. He should have been fired 3 years ago.
and if you really want to guarantee a high draft pick, hire the interim coach that is back from retirement on the radio ( WFAN) with the web app that almost nobody buys........he can be the team's new mad dog.
Alright after watching the first half I guess I'll go with Pros: they tried a...yeah never mind. I got nothing. Cons: I'm not sure it was a lack of effort as much as it was just bad football. Skrine is skrine. In fact, I'm baffled as to what they see in this guy to keep him around. If it's not a penalty, he's getting burned far too often. The line is just a bit under mediocre. Expecting McCown to come in and be something he isn't after playing less than 2 dozen snaps all year is just unrealistic. That only works for scrubs off the street, on other teams. Play calling. A rusty, old, and ok on his best day qb. A 3rd and 2. You get the rest. Just shitty. Inept Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Pros ... people who do things professionally for money Cons ... The Johnson's for selling us this product and smiling all the way to the bank.
They'll scapegoat Bates first. The reason why they won't fire Bowles now is he deflects the heat away from the real reason this team stinks right now, MacCagnan. Fire Bowles now and the attention will turn to MacCagnan 100% no buffer from the criticism.
the more i think about it, the more i realize that you are exactly right. drafting failures and priorities in rounds 2-5 doomed this team. you could put groh, herm , mangini, or rex behind the sidelines right now, and the record would not be much better. you can't coach what you don't have. clean house , starting with the front office.
scape·goat /ˈskāpˌɡōt/ noun noun: scapegoat; plural noun: scapegoats 1. a person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency. Bates is being blamed for his own wrongdoings, mistakes and faults, no one else's. There are no scapegoats here, just plenty of well-earned blame to go around.
Disagree. Rex would at least compete with this team. Not get blown out at home by F*cking Matt Barkley who was cooking hash browns at the damn Waffle House 2 weeks ago. The defense is not that bad when they choose to show up. They did not show up at all yesterday period. Bowles should have been fired at the damn half yesterday. They were shutting out Cleveland and then the defense sh*t itself when mayfield came in. This season have made mayfield Barkley and bortles look like Marino Montana and elway.
