    Not gonna happen bud.

I didn't start this thread to show off how good or bad Darnold is. I made this thread to track all the rookies in their rookie season, which is exactly what I am going to continue to do

Here is something to track: Darnold had as many INTs against the Fins as Brees, Rodgers, M. Ryan, A. Smith, Wentz, Rivers, Cousins, Newton, Prescott and R. Wilson have had all season.

And Brees, Rodgers, Ryan, Smith, Wentz, Rivers, Cousins, Newton, and Prescott have a combined 86 seasons in the NFL and a combined average of 9.5 seasons.

They have all amassed 907 interceptions in those years with a combined average of 100 a piece.

All to Sam Danrold's 9 games and 14 INT.

    FANTASTIC POST!

Sam might become a good qb, however he lacks that " greatness factor". I think it will interesting to see how he handles all the negative pressure that is starting to mount upon him. For probably the first time in his life people will not be telling him how great he is. Every newspaper, radio show, etc.

How did Jared Goff do his rookie year?
I seem to remember a collection of idiots out there who were convinced that he couldn't play.
How about now? Can he play?

Today was the first game I was disappointed in Sam's performance, but he is a 21 year old rookie with shit around him. These games are going to happen. Long's snaps clearly did not help. Pass protection was weak. Run game was non-existent. Hard to blame Sam too much, but he had an off game.

Goff's turnaround shows that it's possible Darnold does the same thing, not that it's likely.

Food for thought Sams numbers the last 3 games 52-11o 47.2 pct. 588 yds 2 tds and 7 ints 43.3 passer rating. I believe the last 3 qbs that played against the phins had over a 130 qb rating.

Always smart to compare Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees to a rookie QB making his 9th start.

I don't think he said anything that concerns me. Everything he said is true. You can't just ignore a poor performance because he's a rookie. He has to be responsible with the football and he has to accept his mistakes and fix them. I don't think there's any division in the locker room. I think guys are looking for an answer and are not giving excuses.

I do it often, and I hear it often on here and when I talk to people in general, "he's a rookie, those mistakes will happen". This is true, he will make rookie mistakes and he will show his age, but a mistake is a mistake. If it costs us the game, that's on him. He needs to take that on the chin and get better. Him being a rookie does not excuse him from poor play, and I think that's all Claiborne was saying

Thanks for the post I went back and listened to what he said based on your post. That was pretty far from throwing him under the bus or indicating a split in the locker room. It was a pretty reasonable and professional comment. The written tweet seemed very misleading from what was actually said. I think your interpretation is spot on.

I know Darnold hasn't played in a couple games, but none of the rookies will play a full season either.

    Any chance for an update?

Just by eyeball, Rosen looks like only bust to me, but I was never a fan of his college game either.
Jackson I'm not sure what to make of him yet. He's definitely explosive, but can he be a Randall Cunningham type player?
Would be interesting to look at the stats.

Darnold and Rosen suck. Josh Allen has the wow factor and sucks. Jackson is surprisingly productive. Mayfield is balling.
