Where are the untethered Darnold fans to tell us this game was on Long and the play calling? Both were shit but this game was Sams worst and seems to indicate he’s hit the wall or will never make it over it. After 8 weeks this is the effort he puts out? Embarrassing. The Dolphins also dropped two picks, so it evened out. Then again, the pick-six was on a bad snap. Anyway, I don't know if Darnold will be good, but what we can control is getting better coaching.
Yeah, hes going through growing pains, but it also doesn't seem like anyones getting open. The play calling is just bland and unoriginal. But you're right. He may be good, he may be bad, but the bottom line is Jets need new coaching to figure it out.
There are a lot of Sam apologists on this site. I for one want the kid to be our stud QB, but you know what, the eyes do not lie. He isn't that good this "year". WIll he be next year? I highly doubt it with this franchise.
Everyone here knocking Darnold obviously are either too or young too senile to recall Troy Aikman's first season with the Cowboys. The Jets offensive play makers are just about at the same level, including a godawful offensive line. This thread is an abomination - really , a 21 yo rookie QB getting undeserved trash calling.

Darnold is not God’s son. He isn’t a franchise saviour yet. Stop attacking folks who criticize Sam. If you believe somebody is trolling then report. If not, let everybody voice their opinion. PS: I still have huge trust in Darnold and no he isn’t Sanchez 2.0
The Sam apologist are disillusioned. They have yet to come to the conclusion that darnold deserves any blame, or is anything but a franchise qb. He has shown us nothing, the ability to make good passes sometimes doesn't mean he Is our franchise qb, he is on his way to being benched and a bust, not a franchise qb.
We’ll be reviving this thread in a year or 2 after Sam has an NFL caliber offense and coaching staff to support him.
Thank you. Anyone who posts any sort of criticism of darnold get attacked and it's getting old and annoying, especially as the weeks go on and darnold is playing worse and worse.
Once again not going to fully blame Darnold but for what he can control it was awful today Doesn’t mean all that much in the long run as plenty of good and great QBs struggled early but there are plenty of busts who played like shit early on and never got better
