At this point I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Tell you this, I cannot stand another Johnson-era, gutless, spineless, passionless, corporate-esque talent search for front office talent that brings us nothing but mediocrity. I can pick mediocrity too and I don’t cost anywhere near what some of these bozos Woody has hired. So if you’re reading this Woody, I’m available and I have a long, proven record of mediocrity. Where’s my job?
agreed! and if you throw it deep and the threat is there, it opens up the short passing game more. I can't tell you how many times i seend Dbs playing 10 yards off robbie and we don't even run a drag where he would be wide open
If we can’t sign him long term then why are we trading for him? Surely it’s not to sign him, go 7-9, and then watch him bolt next season? That’s the only reason I would be interested....Basically what the Bears did with Mack, only much less compensation
I would not be happy giving up assets for a guy we cannot resign until next year who we simply could wait and sign next year. It seems almost as bad as the Percy Harvin deal. We would be giving up assets for nothing but a desperate attempt to keep everyone employed. It's a little different than idzik who was buying a lottery ticket only for himself after doing the best he could to screw Ryan and the rest of the coaching staff all off season. But it still smells of desperation. I could get behind trading for Mack but trading for Bell is the kind of thing that would make me consider giving money for a billboard and I like Mac. Or it maybe it's just a friendly message to Bell that we are coming after you next year.
The big game hunt we needed was Mack. Granted I'm not saying no to Bell but what will his effectiveness actually be behind our line? He's not going to make Sam any less of a rookie. He's not going to suddenly teach Bowles how to coach and make adjustments
What about a 4th and Crowell? Steelers get a body for this season and a pick un 2019. Jets get an upgrade at RB and the inside track to resign him.
Can’t give up much for a guy off the couch that is a UFA no matter how talented 2nd rounder in 2020. Give them a round higher then a 2020 3rd round compensation pick
Bell is a head case. I don't care how good he can play when he chooses to play, and I certainly don't trust Bowles to keep him in line when he can't even control the crowd we have now. I hope we take a pass.
