I heard 2 arguments about this sort of over the top violent games. One is that a game such as this would provide a valve to relieve bottled up hatred for a troubled.. let's say teen and thus would prevent him from going Columbine in real life. Another that such game would do the opposite and empower to go out and shoot. What do you think?
I don't claim to be any sort of authority on the psychology of mass shooters but I have read in different writings that they're getting off on the fantasy of "playing god" and having control over who lives and dies. this seems to play directly into that mindset and it's probably why I found it disturbing. maybe this can be an outlet for them I don't know. I would be disturbed if my kids wanted this game or something similar.
Not good man, the lack of limits that has permeated society has opened the door for levels of entertainment that should not even see the light of day. I think the only thing that is not okay in today's world is murder and pedophilia, everything else is just excused into existence.
One day there will be straight porno games out there, along with long term serial killer games, trying to elude the public eye for as long as possible, as time passes in the game. One cool idea though, would be a natural disaster game, where you try to survive things. For example the game play would be like GTA, and you'd have to try surviving a tornado, or a hurricane, etc.
The gruesome deaths don't bother me but the story seems to be about some psycho going around murdering innocent people and cops...that doesn't sit well with me. If he's killing thugs to get revenge on them or something sure but executing a mall cop just because? I don't think that's necessary.
Well the developers are winning. Game is a hot topic on the other forums i visited. Reminds me of the buzz gta for ps2 first received. As for the user 2 post above, i wont be surprised if full porn ends up on national tv in ten years. All these kids watching porn these days and pornstars branching into Hollywood it is soon becoming "nothing" serious. Seeing some sick shit wont bother many.
I wouldn't say that. I could see scenes of porn with blurs on tv in 10 years, but the FCC(?) would never allow straight porn on cable tv.
