I hate to brake in here, but... My feeling was that sam’s debut most resembled Tom Brady’s debut. Other than the pick six it reminded me of Brady in how he didn’t do anything amazing, just kept the offense on time and in stride. I’ll show you the data to support this argument later.
Certainly not having him fitted for his gold jacket, but there is ZERO wrong with being excited about this kid's future. For me, he passed the eye test: he looked and carried himself on field and off the field of a seasoned vet and he's only 21. That's what I took from Monday's game, nothing more, nothing less and the fact that his teammates seem to love the kid speaks volumes about what kind of a leader he can become going forward...
He was a 21 year old rookie on mnf and he played great. Good start and the team kicked some serious ass. That’s all anyone said. Don’t lecture me douch bag writer. And F the numbers this ain’t baseball
Thank you. And to add to it, WTF does a writer for the Washington Post give a shit about the Jets and Darnold? Shouldnt he be more concerned with say, i dont know, the Redskins?
Or---you could go shit in your hat, Neil. LOL. I am so sick of these comparisons. All these guys are different.
I believe that a good QB does exactly what you mentioned with regard to keeping offense in sync. We know what a bad QB does, lots of 3 and outs, overthrows or underthrows open receivers, gets sacked and takes team out FG range, doesn’t throw ball away....etc. Offense is never in sync with a bad QB. Darnold does no have to be amazing every time, just keep offense in sync and moving forward. He’ll get his opportunity to be amazing.
