Not sure how we do it but i can see us winning this one 23-16 or 17-13.

Golden Tate will be a tough cover, but I like Trumaine on Marvin Jones. Blount isn't a running back that will kill us so the Jets should make the Lions 1 dimensional.

Hopefully Bowles shows us hes capable of leading this team starting on Monday night. The team is a year older so hopefully we start seeing some players emerge

This is really the greatest time of year. The peak of our optimism. New QB who actually can be a franchise guy. Maybe this one time it won't fizzle out in misery and disgrace. I'm thinking we finally have the guy at QB. We just need to find the right coach.

Jets 28-20. Lions D is nothing. But they'll move the ball on us too

If you want hope, then this has been the worst preseason I can remember watching as a Lions' fan. No push from the OL, drives stalling in the red zone, sieve rush defense, no QB pressure, etc. Kerryon Johnson has been one of the few bright spots, but who knows how much run he's going to get behind Blount, Riddick and Abdullah.

Matt Ryan was the last rookie QB to start against the Lions on opening day 10 years ago. Two plays into that season, the Falcons had a 7-0 lead care of a long Ryan-Jenkins TD throw.

    Good times.

Jets and Lions. Two miserable franchises. I wish no ill on you guys. I am going to bet on this game. As a Lions insider, do you see Lions covering -6.5? :)

Honestly, I have no clue. The Lions' D has looked terrible but they played it pretty vanilla in the preseason. Couldn't even tell you what they're doing at RB or why Abdullah is taking up a roster spot

Only outcome that would surprise me is a tie.

How many years in a row are we gonna ask the D to hold it down til a JETS offense gets up to speed?
It's time a JETS D actually steps tf up!!

New Jack City and this and that.....Hit someone! Set the Tone! Pressure! 110% NRG!!
We're supposed to be flying all over the field with this D!

    Burner Turner is still running

Anyway good luck to you as long as it's not against us. Always loved watching Barry Sanders

Yeah, but not when he made my rabid Jets fan friend, Vinnie, sit in a bathroom stall in Penn Station with his head in his hands questioning his life. Sanders breaks the 2,000 rushing mark along with OJ the Murderer and Eric Dickerson. Jets win and they're in. Detroit wins and they're in. The Jets didn't win and didn't get in. Thanks, Barry! He was great and something else, though, but of course, just like OJ, it was against the Jets what else

I can't recall who the Detroit player was at the moment, but he almost died on the field. He wasn't breathing and it took forever to cart him off. Ugh. Far more important than complaining about Barry Sanders tearing the Jets a new one, but that game was just another game of pain in the Jets litany of fail. Don't even breathe the names Garrison Hearst, Jermaine Lewis or Ted Ginn, Jr around me. It won't end well. It's like that horror movie 'Candyman' - just say it FIVE TIMES!

I believe they will keep it conservative to get Darnold past the butterflies, once there is a rhythm to the game I can see them opening up the playbook a bit.

Ooh ooh my turn for a bad story.
Garrison Hearst, week 1 jets go in to over time. My whole fantasy league is at the same house , beers and grill and football. The guy I am playing against has garrison Hearst. I look at him as the 49ers take the ball at the 20 and say something to the effect that garrison is about to ruin both my teams. 10 seconds later he is looking at me like how the hell did you know that would happen.
I’m a jet fan, why wouldn’t it have happened?

LOL... one of the worst tackling displays I've ever seen. The Jets looked like the keystone cops trying to stop him on that play.

I hope you're right ... I will reserve criticism for when it's warranted but I shutter to see that same BS, lets keep it close and hope to win the 4th qtr attitude Bowles seems to have.
