I love the thread although disagree with the title.

The Sam Darnold era officially started the very moment we traded up from 6th and landed him @ 3rd overall.

Teddy Bridgewater was nothing more than future trade bait dating back to day one of March the 18th of 2018 and on August the 29th of 2018; it became official.

Great time to be a Jets fan. Exciting times ahead.

To have a Franchise caliber signal caller in Sam Darnold, an up and coming talented young defense (while both are being) backed up by the most available salary cap space of any NFL Franchise come 2019's offseason?

Are we even rooting for the Jets anymore?

This feels different.

 

I can't wait to see Sam lead us to victory over the Lions on Monday Night Football! That's how you start the Sam Darnold Era.

Hope everyone is ready for some Dink and Darnold early on. My guess is short to mid range, high percentage passes just like we’ve seen this preseason. I’m sure they’ll take some shots but the faster he can get the ball out the healthier he’ll be.

Regardless, should make for an exciting season.

 

Am I the only on here who isn't pleased about this? Week 1? I'm not saying Darnold isn't capable, but way to handle your priceless Ming Dynasty vase and then have every Jets fan in the world scream at the maid who dropped it while dusting. I'm not liking it.

For me the Sam Darnold era will begin the day I can stick it to my brother the Giants fan. Hopefully that will be after the Lions game. He feels Sam is just an average QB with a lot of hype and he won't ever live up to the hype. GO SAM AND PROVE HIM WRONG My brother is coming over to my home Monday to watch the game on my new 4k 75 inch Tv. I already won a bet we made about Sam starting day 1. Come on Sam & win me some more $. Let the Sam Darnold era begin

 

Please let him turn into a legitimate top 10 NFL QB. It's depressing that I'm 44 and the Jets haven't had a big-time, legit, franchise QB in my lifetime. Could things finally change?
