If you truly think Bridgewater is mediocre, then what you've noticed isn't worth spit.

I wonder what the Jets will do at QB tomorrow night in Philly? Can't start Darnold. No need. No need to play a 39 year old back-up like McCown either. Are we talking a full game of Wolford? Should be interesting. My guess is McCown starts for a drive or two, then Wolford the rest of the way.

With Teddy gone, that's who I added to my 53 man projection.

I think the problem here is that some think like a kid in the toy shop where they grab the first thing they see off the shelf.

In my view, you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them.....I guess they never heard that old Kenny Rodgers tune.

Did you just assume it’s identity?

Respectfully, in your scenario above, wouldn't Teddy behind a bad offensive line be more likely to get injured versus a quarterback from one of these better teams?

not a bad trade. a 6th rounder is pretty much worthless and usually off the team in a few years. getting a 3rd is good as 3rd rounders can usually develop into starters. Teddy had no future here and was gone the minute we got darnold either now or the off season so nice to get something in return. We save 5 mil cap space that can be carried over and used to sign some players in the offseason, we get an extra roster spot as we can keep only 2 QBs and use the extra spot for a different position and since we have a log jam at RB, TE, and CB it would be nice to hold onto someone who could be good over someone who was never going to be here in 2019

At this point. I agree. Initially, I was upset that we didn't hold onto Teddy longer in hopes that we could get more for him. I know that the odds may have been against that happening, but it was still possible. Still, the trade is done, and at this point a 3rd is the best we could have done. I'm not thrilled with having to give NO a 6th in exchange when that could have been a player that would help our STs, but it is what it is.

IMO we definitely wouldn't have wanted to trade Teddy to an AFC team. I'm happy for Teddy, happy that he's in the NFC, and that we have a shiny new 3rd round pick.

That could happen any year to any QB. It's ridiculous to worry about it. Shit Teddy and Watson were injured in practice, without contact. Grow a pair, lol

No, I don't think so. Teddy is pretty quick and evasive. He makes quick decisions and gets the ball out quickly. He's worked very hard to build back his strength and gotten a little bigger and stronger. I think he would be less likely to get hurt than perhaps Darnold who could get confused by an exotic blitz, disguised coverage, or puzzling D alignment and wind up holding the ball a second too long.

And we also don't have a 2nd round pick next year. I'd rather that go to potentially another piece to surround Darnold than have a rental for a season in which we aren't going to the playoffs anyway.

All this and he was injured, almost lost his leg in a practice, non contact.

No Red, yellow, green wristband needed, doesn’t look lost. He’s no where near where these two were.

If a QB goes down a 2 and 1 is the likely trade value, but clearly Mac was told to get rid of him before the additional $5 million salary became guaranteed. I hope the Johnson’s enjoy the vacation that money will buy.

You STILL can’t give examples. You keep claiming QB injuries are common and imminent but you can’t tell me the last time a team lost a QB and traded more than a third for a backup midseason. Until you can do that, your opinion is kind of baseless.

    Wrong

    1. If a QB goes down on a contender maybe.

    2. If they don't have an option at backup

    3. If there is enough time left in the season to learn a new offense it if it's a similar offense to Jets.

    4. If no one goes down you lose the 3rd.

The Woody is cheap angle is as lame as there every is.

As long as Qvale ain't out there, I think Darnold will be OK ... now running the football? This line sucks 110% at it.

This tells me that the Jets are very confident in Darnolds ability to not only start the season but play through any hiccups he may have.

Without a doubt we were taking a QB with our first pick. Mac didn't know who'd it be, so Bridgewater was a very cheap insurance policy to cover the unknown.

Once Sam proved his mettle, Teddy became trade bait.

Smart prescient move by Mac...now dig up a left tackle.

Watson was injured on a contender. Who got those great draft picks?
