Mac-A-DOODOO would praise fucking Jeff George as THE quintessential QB prospect coming out of college. [George did have one sweet throwing motion. That's all he had, really.]
He's entitled to his opinion, just as we are entitled to think he's uninformed and bad at coaching football. We'll find out soon enough who's right though
he's an idiot who got fired and who benched his starting 2 time SB winning QB in favor of geno smith and got fired after 1 season. the giants offense sucked under him for many years people also complained about aaron rodgers throwing motion as well. seemed to work fine for him
McAdoof just doesn't get it. To him, it was just a matter of poor "bedside manner" on his part. He wants us to believe that he did it "to make the Giants stronger for the future." That might make some sense if he benched Eli to get a look at Davis Webb, but he benched him for Geno Smith. I don't think that even Marcus Welby had a good enough bedside manner to sell that one. And how in hell was starting Geno Smith going to make the Giants stronger for the future. McAdoof should just shut up and go away. If anyone ever starts an Insomnia Network on cable, they can hire him as a commentator, but until then, just go away. McAdoof is one of these guys who sounds stupider every time he opens his mouth. Rich Kotite and Ray Handley had the good sense to disappear into oblivion. And what's with him shooting his mouth off to every media outlet. He wasn't this chatty when he was coaching. All he could say back then was that he had to review the tape. Maybe his new-found chattiness is part of some 12-step program for failed football coaches. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...how-he-handled-eli-manning-benching/#comments
Ben McAdoo was the head coach of one of the greatest organizations in sports. The Maras dont hire idiots. His football acumen is tremendous and is considered as one of the finest offensive minds in the game, and knows the QB position better than anyone. His issue in NY was the media. The guy is a first class man and head coach. He will be a head coach in this league for a long time. Brilliant man and great leader. If he thinks Darnold is a bad pick I will take his word for it.
Not every guy who gives a great interview turns out to be the right guy for the job. I agree with you. He worked at Packers then at Giants. I won't call him clueless but he isn't credible in my book either. Note to all Guys, I know Jethro is making it easy for you to attack him but please try to keep this civil. He started a thread and same topic is being discussed in other Jet forums as well and nobody is ridiculing the OP there. I would appreciate if you could let this go and focus on McAdoo and not on Jethro.
@Brook! The problem is the OP considers McAdoo a great offensive mind and a first class coach when the evidence suggests otherwise. It's almost impossible to not criticize the OP when he makes those claims. But since you're a mod, I will obey your commands.
Ray Handley was another great football mind hired by the Holy Mara's. It was the media that was his problem as well. Ben McAdoo will be going places. This guy is a true leader of men. It's written all over him. Just like Handley.
The difference being, everyone on those other sites are rightfully ridiculing McAdoo, whereas Jethro praised McAdoo as someone who knows more than anyone in the Jets organization. The thread over at Jets Nation posted the article and ended the post with this. (Had to cut his post short, over there he had another 43 laughing emojis) Can we civilly attack Jethro? I mean he claimed McAdoo developed Aaron Rodgers, surely we can point out how utterly ridiculous that statement is.
Could very well be. I don't know. Thanks. No apology needed. I don't like editing messages so I will let you decide what you want to do. Well young blood, I see your point. But still, let's discuss McAdoo and not Jethro. Tough crowd here. Lol. No don't attack Jethro please. Yes he makes it easy to be attacked but still.
