The last 2 times the jets had a good o line, Herm’s playoff runs and Rex’s they were predicated by a surprise additions to the o line. Hopefully this the 3rd time it happens.

Be nice if hes able to play and play well. Young QB with a young LT....could be playing together for years.

Put him on a steady diet of HGH and steroids, give him a 4 week “vacation” and when he gets back hopefully he’s 320 and strong as an ox.

Fantastic pick up. Tons of upside, very little downside. Really none whatsoever. Here's to hoping we just landed a longterm OL piece that will make our division rival feel like shit for years to come.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson waged a career long battle keeping his weight up, got overpowered on occasion, and ran out of gas at times. He still turned out this side of great. Not averse to this signing at all. Low risk/potential high reward, but who cares about that part. The main thing is that Garcia pulls a classic Cheats move coming to the Jets and spills secrets. Fukk you, Belichick. Mmwahahaha (evil laugh).

His health is the concern as blood clots in the lungs are no laughing matter. He's lucky that he didn't die. I don't know if he has put the weight back on and regained his strength, but I liked him last year and hoped the Jets would take him in the 2nd - 4th round, wherever they had him rated. His scouting report for the draft was that he was a little on the thin side, needed to gain strength and needed technique work, but had true starter potential.

I love this signing. He could wind up being or future LT if he's as good as the draft reports claimed.

Inside the o line meeting room week 1:
    Coach: any questions?
Garcia: yea, when do we watch the tapes of all the defensive signals?

So I've seen Garcia and I get the lanky frame knock (compared to other OL) and the high pad level knock. Now, if he was to put a little weight in the midsection and get deeper/more stable in his bends, he'd likely be more effective. All this is to ask a basic question: why can't they mainline him beer after workouts? Wouldn't that put on the weight that he needs?

Y'all talking like he's going to be a contributor?? He's got a lung issue. Dude can't even play. He could croak and die.

I'm all for gamesmanship but we shouldn't be picking up guys like that from the Pats. They put him on waivers because he's got serious health issues. It's unfair to the player to give him hope that he's going to ever play when he's not

    You're correct but ......

When you add a bunch of fat up top (belly) you are more difficult to move (assuming technique is the same and youre not slower)

by nature (for men) your lower body WILL get stronger to compensate for the added mass and therefore you gain lower body muscle by "accident".....

Ever see how big the legs and calves are developed on fat people? Men do not hold fat in the legs. Fat men have amazingly powerful legs.

But I admit, this is a reach.... If he's just obese, it won't be good.

    Overall lean mass is preferred

Didn't they draft Wynn and trade for a LT during the first round? Plus they let go of Cooks which indicates that they are going away from the vertical passing game again , which will allow Brady to get the ball out faster , masking any deficiency at LT.
