https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2018/05/08/packers-losing-veteran-college-scout-to-jets/ Expected to take over for the recently departed Matt Bazirgan. Look like he has a solid resume and is from a good organization. Pretty young guy as well, love the youth movement throughout the organization!
Specializes specifically in defense... Defensive Line and Linebackers... Great. Just more influence in the organization to take a run stuffing big man round 1 next year
Boo hoo. He got himself a job working on defense before he became a full time college scout five years ago. Waaahhhh that automatically means they're gonna pick a defensive player a fucking year from now
I'm happy they went with a younger guy for that position. Director of College Scouting tends to be a very active position, a lot of traveling and bringing pieces together. Hopefully this guy has the energy and vigor to be the right guy for the job. Also wasn't too long ago he played, brings a fresh perspective of the process and could be value added. Also worked for a stalwart organization for 5 years. We could have done worse.
Doesn't it feel soooo good to not have to say that right now? As Kirk Cousins would say, "You like THAT!"
Nice job Mac. We are on our way to building a strong, young, talented infrastructure, and a young core of players. Now, a HC with vision and forward thinking strategy will be required to bring everything to fruition. Get it down TB
Hes a former d-lineman so i would hope that'd be his specialty, and hey maybe he can get the Jets to finally take a pass rusher for the first time in forever
That's great for him and all but I'm just not excited for a hire of a former Defensive Lineman who comes from the packers organization which is a team that has been devoid of defensive talent outside a very few select players. I'm fine with drafting an Edge rusher but apparently that's not even this guys expertise. In a D Line stacked class next year all signs are now pointing to us making the awful mistake of taking one. Why couldn't we hire someone who was a O line scout guru? Why don't we care about protecting our prized possession? Why is the focus always on the defensive line? We have enough defensive line to last a gosh darn lifetime, D line is a dime a dozen I can find adequate run stuffing big men in the 6th round and beyond or in the free agency scrap heap, they grow on trees Only until every major team hole is filled should you ever take a D Line men in the early rounds. They are a luxury pick
