He just wasn't a great player for us. Maybe he'll find success elsewhere in a different situation. I'm certainly not rooting against him.
Seems like a good guy, but wasn't even a competent QB for us. I wish him nothing but the best in his future.
The best thing Petty did for the Jets was showcase Robby Anderson in the pre-season games with those huge bombs down the sideline.
His few chances were filled with bad passes, bad decisions and questionable footwork and release time. Hope he catches on some where as he's not a bad guy.
Guess the reports of other teams being interested in trading for Petty were put out there by the Jets or Petty's agent. Sorry that things didn't work out for him. If he catches on with another team, I hope it's one that has better QB Coaching who has a history of developing QBs, but sadly, even that probably wouldn't help. I'm glad that he's finally free. It looks like his dream of playing in the NFL may be over. I wish him the best in whatever he decides to pursue after NFL football.
Like Petty a lot, but he just didn't progress rapidly enough. Hopefully he continues to get opportunities outside of the AFC East.
Figured he would be the first to go. Was rooting for him but unfortunately, he actually regressed last season. Best of luck to him, and maybe he can grow into a steady back up for another team. Should be interesting who's going to be cut next - Hack or Teddy
Hoping he catches on with another team and he goes on to have a successful career. Was a good guy, represented the Jets really well as a person and never embarrassed the organization. He wasn’t a good QB but maybe a change of scenery will do him well. Good luck Bryce.
