Wouldn't have been the worst idea in the world given Mac's drafting till this year outside the first round
Seems more like a slower WR than a TE. Didn't see him blocking at all in that video. Pretty athletic for a TE.
Per PFF College, Herndon caught 35-of-43 slot targets in 2017, leading all college tight ends with an 81.4% catch rate when targeted in the slot. Make him a star Sam.
If you want to try to understand how Herndon projects into the Jets offense under Jeremy Bates: https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2...nahan-bates-offense-part-2-two-tight-end-sets EDIT: Another article, less informative: http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-j...tight-ends-goodbye-to-austin-seferian-jenkins
So basically you’re saying we have the next Gronk and Hernandez minus the murders in Herndon/Walford or Leggett...
Mayock who knows his stuff has Shepherd ranked at 43 and Herndon at 68. How can you criticize these picks or remotely criticize?
No one is crowning them. Right now what we know is they were ranked in certain spots by professionals and our GM got them either at that spot or way later.
For all Mo's issues, he was a first round talent who became a Pro Bowler. We will be very lucky if Shepherd reaches that level.
True...but when we boil it all down, isn't our biggest need a Lawrence Taylor without the underage prostitution charges.
