?

If Darnold and Allen are gone, who would you pick with the 3rd pick?

  1. Rosen

    69.0%
  2. Mayfield

    31.0%

This is the type of QB I wanted on the Jets since Chad left. We passed on Derek Carr who was similar in IQ. If hes available then take Rosen, if Rosen is gone, go and draft Mayfield. I will absolutely root for him to prove me wrong.

I think a lot of Mayfield supporters would also support Rosen. I am one of them for sure.

that was pretty fucked up though how Mayfield burned those bridges with Texas Tech.

It doesn't have any bearing on how he will do in the NFL but to trash a school that gave him an opportunity like that, to not only walk on the team but to give him equal consideration enough to win the job. That's very respectable. A dignified person shows loyalty in return. Mayfield had some growing up to do

Case Keenum’s hand size gives me hope for Mayfield. Still want Rosen but wouldn’t be mad with Mayfield

I think we can agree that a walk on starter transferring after his freshman year to a conference rival does not happen all the time.

let alone of course the comments from his father and the comments from Mayfield himself at the time, that doesn't happen all the time either

And allegedly TT didn't follow through on a scholarship and also Kliff Kingsbury wasn't communicating with Mayfield.

There are two sides to this story. It is a complete non factor for the Jets decision.

it's the draft everything is a factor. People will complain that 1 prospect leans the wrong way when farting. Why do you think they ask stupid questions in interviews like "is your mom a hooker" and what would you do if i punched you in the face right now" Everything they have done in their life is under scrutiny, you can't call anything a non factor

He turned down a scholarship to be a walk on though at TT. he didn't have to be one. https://thespun.com/college-footbal...m-this-major-program-to-walk-on-at-texas-tech

according to this, TT told him he had a scholarship https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...lifts-scholarship-ban-for-ous-baker-mayfield/ on top of that, TT also lifted the scholarship ban that allowed him to have one at oklahoma for 2015-2017 so doens't sound like they were out to screw him over.

I agree there are 2 sides, but it should factor in. difficult players are always difficult. Look at marshall, look at revis. people don't change really.

Sure I can. Do you think there is even one team in the NFL that has moved Mayfield down because of his transfer out of Texas Tech? I don't know whether any has, but it seems like a huge stretch to me. If you are someone who is inclined to dislike Mayfield for character concerns, then you can do better than this.

I think it has been discussed by teams, whether or not they worry about it is different, but i'm sure it has come up. Everything comes up for every player. that's how the process is. I do knock (not dislike but knock) mayfield for his character issues but that is only 1 part of it, and yes I see it as an issue. If revis wasn't a greedy dick, he would have been a lifelong jet. Things like that matter.

I can't really take an article seriously when it's horribly written, gives NFL evaluators credit for some passers and then when it's talking about another passer it completely disregards their ability to judge a player.

The writer is inserting his own opinion into his badly written article.

    Pass.

    This is worse than BR.

I'm getting the feeling that the Jets are as likely to be picking from Darnold and Mayfield at the #3 as they are to be picking between Rosen and Mayfield.

The Peter King comment that he didn't see a landing spot for Rosen in the top 6 is a tell tale sign that nobody is talking about Rosen at the top and that generally means everybody wants him.
