 We got screwed in that game, we had about a 50 yd Richie Anderson TD called back on a phantom hold and on our last possession Rob Moore was tackled before he could catch the ball at the GL as we were going in for the tying TD but they didn't call it and we lost. The next week we bounced back at Minnesota behind a 3 INT game from Marcus Turner. GB is one of those teams(along w/ Minny and TB- and now the Texans) that we have had our way w/ historically. We are 7-2 overall and have won 7 of the last 8 though our only 2 losses have been at GB. I'm not sure if the 1st one was as GB used to play 2 games a year at Milwaukee. I remember we beat GB at Milwaukee in 1985.
I doubt Farve won't be playing. Honestly, I'm really not worried about playing Green Bay. They just don't have the core offense or defense that can stop a New York Jets team on the rise.
I watched one game in 1981 against GB at Nassau Coliseum during an Isles game. Jets won 28-3 -- dont remember much about either game. Jets lost in the playoffs the next week in that awful bills game. Before the Favre era -- they were awful. I think 1 playoffs in 20 years -- and that was in 82 -- in the strke year.
We needed that game to get into the playoffs for the first time since 1969 and the Giants needed us to beat GB for their first postseason trip since '63. Our O sucked all game but the D sacked Lynn Dickey about 9 times and created TOs and we won going away.
Whoever Ed Harris is covering is going to have a field day, probably Cotchery who should have a huge day
Favre looked terrible in the time he was in against NE. Al Harris is going to get burned a lot- Randy Moss used to abuse that guy like nobody's business.
I don't think the wind will be a factor. May hardly be any wind at all. It will be cold at the game though. High of 35 sounds good, but it could be lower than that. We need the run anyway in December. Now is a good time to find it.
I wasn't trying to knock Davis. He broke his leg didn't he? Makes him ineffective this year. As for the Saints, a big part of their winning is due to Drew Brees. Another significant thing is the power of that home crowd being nuts over their team coming home. Bush has had an impact, but not as significant IMO as guys like D'Brick, Mario, Vince Young, Nick Mangold, and now soon to be Jay Cutler. Even Leinart has looked good on an absolutely terrible team. Overall I just feel like this was one of the best first rounds in my lifetime.
I'm pretty sure the 1979 game was at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. I remember watching it, almost positive we lost.
It was but the Jets squeaked out a 27-22 win. The 1973 MNF season opener was in Milwaukee, the Jets lost but have won 7 of 8 against GB since then, the only other Jets loss was in Lambeau in '94 as already mentioned. I expect a Jets win this week but it will be tougher than many on this board think. Favre can still play, I expect a fairly good game out of him but I also think the Jets running game can and will steal the show. On a side note - and of personal interest to me - Favre needs only 60 more completions to break Dan marino's all-time record of 4967 completions and 92 to become the first NFL QB to reach 5000 completions -quite a remarkable figure...along with 11 more TD passes to break DM's alltime record of 420....
Thanks mrjet80: I wasn't sure about the 1st loss being in Milwaukee or at Lambeau so we only have 1 loss at Lambeau.
